It’s a take we must listen to since he tore his Achilles and would know better than most anyone.

I still think he tore it but it’s strange nothing was reported yesterday. A MRI should be a quick confirmation, but something else is going on here.

A lot is going on at the background. 20 people from different places are consulting each other, making phone calls, on the table, under the table, cooperating, arguing, debating, negotiating. What do we do now? What do we say to the public? Everyone is trying to come up the best version of story they can to not look bad and face least consequences. The PR world we live in.

The thing is, you cannot lie about medical records that's required by the league.

It’s at least a partial tear and if he’s smart he will insist that even with that that it gets oversee to reinforce it against a full rupture.

Just my take as an ortho specialist and what I would want done myself if I had that sort of damage.

They can't. Durant hasn't opted out yet.

I'm sure the guy is satisfied now since "the most shady" thing has been proven a non issue. Let's see what the next "the most shady thing" is

except there are more muscles not connected to the achilles also involved in plantar flexion

also, richard sherman is not a doctor.

Does KD's injury impact Kawhi's free agency decision? Many seemed to think that Kawhi would do a 1+1 given the success he's had in Toronto. I would think it'd be hard to do that given what he just witnessed and taking into account his own injury history. Would Kawhi really sign long-term in another country? Bet Kawhi goes to Clippers.

Raptors can offer Kawhi 5-yr $190 million contract, Clippers can only offer 4-yr $141 million. If you're an injury prone player you don't turn down $50m, especially since you've already turned down a ton of money from the Spurs. I'd be surprised if he's willing to lose roughly $80m in total just to play for an LA team.

Also the Raptors can offer Kawhi that 5 year contract where he can opt out at any time...so he wouldn't be forced to play for the full 5 years....the Warriors are reportedly going to do the same with KD.

I dont believe that Sherman meant "flex" strictly as plantar flexion. If he saw a range of motion that he was incapable of, it is an encouraging sign. Hopefully for the league, he gets proven right.

As any bad thing in history. Just got to hope teams learn from this in the future.

.....
well the only other direction is dorsiflexion and that remains intact after an achilles tear

Would he really turning down 50M? If he ages gracefully, he would be 32 when he becomes a free agent again. In his last year he would be making 43,87M. There an exception where a player is able to sign a contract for 105% of his previous contract, even if the new contract is higher than the league limit. That would mean his starting salary could be 46M, or even higher if the Salary Cap gets really high.

Ya but we know that Kawhi has a chronic injury and is injury prone...he can't play more than 60-65 games per season..you can't just assume that he's going to be perfectly fine until 32.

It's pretty obvious this was the case...the blame can't be place just on KD or just on the Warriors, it's a collective decision, all the parties involved knew the risk and they took it.
