If you were Anthony Davis, would you like to be manipulated by your agent like that? In public?

At the end of the day with so much money at stake, there is going to be plenty of flexing done whether it's by the league, owners, players, or their agents. For decades its primarily been by the owners, a little pushback is not going to ruin the game.

you can argue Davis is a idiot, but it has nothing to do with Rich, who's also an idiot.

Agreed. People blaming Paul for ADs decision, Uncle Dennis for Kawhi's, etc. are basically saying these guys are incapable of making their own choices. Anybody who thinks these guys wouldn't find new reps if the ones they have currently weren't representing what they want to happen are delusional.

agreed, but this is funny coming from you, when you're blaming the Warriors for playing KD when that was 100% his own decision

Funny how you're bringing in a completely different situation up for absolutely no reason. A player making his own decision about where he plays and requesting a trade is totally different than a player deciding to play after getting obviously bad advice from a medical staff, as well as outside pressure from the media (and apparently inside the organisation) without anyone standing up for him from his team until after he blew out his achilles. Not seeing the correlation here.

But I guess it'd be too much to expect someone like you to look at things objectively, you've proven over and over again you're incapable of doing that and just blindly defend the team you cheer for even when they're clearly in the wrong.

The funniest thing is that people act like LeBron + Davis + Kuzma + some very good role players wouldn't instantly turn Lakers into contenders now that KD is out.
Why do people act like if no FA comes to Lakers, they will just let LeBron and AD play with trash supporting cast? They will have a good amount of money to get some really good role players unlike last year when they had no choice but 1 year contracts.

AD winning in LA will do so much for his brand which is absolutely nothing right now. He makes very little money off the court. I am sure AD will stay in NYC too if Knicks gets some good players.

It's not a completely different situation. It's exactly the same thing. We're talking about players having their own agency and are responsible for making their own decisions. Somehow to you that applies to Davis not KD.

just admit your bias here like a man so we can move on, the hypocrisy is epic.

A player being pressured into playing when he's clearly not 100% due to being incorrectly cleared by a teams medical staff isnt the same as saying when an agent who is employed by a player makes a trade request they're acting in the player interest. You're really reaching here bud...

1) you have literally zero proof he was pressured into anything, you're ASSuming he was because reasons

2) are you suggesting that Davis isn't being pressured to play in NY or LA?

why does agency apply to one player but not the other? just admit the hypocrisy and we can move on, this is a bad look for you.

He doesn't have the brains to do that. All the bizarre **** that happened with the Davis saga occurred right after LBJ and his creation became AD's agent(s). Every media member that has covered Davis has said that that's not him and that's people who've known him for years and know his family. They all say he's acting out of character since he hired Paul.
Good assessment:

It's the same thing Kawhi did. Let Uncle Dennis do the dirty work and stayed in the corner, silently with that dumb look on his face even going as far as saying he would like to stay with the Spurs and then bolting in the off-season.

These guys have agents, managers, PR teams etc. They are grown men who know exactly what they're doing. Their agents/handlers, although have some level influence over them, but by and large they're just mouth pieces.

AD's head has been turned by the Lakers. Simple as that.

One thing thats for sure clutch's power coup has been an unmitigated disaster. N.O is not going to trade AD to LAL primarily out of principle and secondarily b/c their offer is weak. AD may still end up in L.A but he will be playing with a 36 year old LBJ and that's the leverage N.O has.

Why? Kobe wanted to only play for Lakers or Bulls and both teams were very mediocre when he was drafted.
I hope people don't believe this new BS that market size doesn't matter now.
Even a guy like LeBron would be much bigger if he won even 1 title in New York instead of Cleveland.
AD's off court deals which make him very little money right now would increase by a lot playing for the Lakers.
It is not like he would be going to a bad situation. He would have LeBron and money to either sign another star or a bunch of good role players.

how is that Lakers team not a top 2 team in the West? They probably become a real contender and one of the favorites now that KD is injured.

Kawhi was hated an year ago and now he is loved because he is winning. Unless you pull a KD, people love you as long as you are winning.

Lol so ADs dad is acting out of character too when he also said his son doesn't want to play for Boston?
Just face it, Davis wants to go to NYC or LA , nowhere else. This is his decision and he hired Rich Paul to make it happen.

Read on Twitter

He came to the Pelicans when he was 19 years old and he is 26 now, of course he's changed. These media members are corny and they think the image that a guy portrays in public is who they really are.

A. Davis wants to play for the Lakers (or Knicks) and Rich Paul is trying to achieve that. As soon as possible.

IT really is this simple. No idea why so few people get that.

Actually I do understand. They aren't trying to get to the reality, they just want to slander Lebron. It's pathetic actually.

Clyde is 100% correct that you're hypocritical and this is the EXACT same issue.

It's not the exact same. 1 situation is people accusing grown men of being manipulated into making desicisons based off of pressure from people THEY EMPLOY.

The other situation is based off a grown man making a decision to come back from an injury based off of medical information from people WHO THEY ARE EMPLOYED BY.

2 completely different situations with different factors and variables involved.

Please tell me how me saying Rich Paul isnt doing anything AD signs off on is the same as saying KD made a decision to play based off of bad medical advice? They're completely different subjects, the only similarities are people making choices.

If I'm a hypocrite for on one hand believing KD was given bad medical advice, and whether or not was wrongly influenced into playing a game he was physically not ready to play in, while on the other hand belive AD is a big boy who pays an agent to do what he tells him I guess that makes me a hypocrit.

You are derailing because this subject wasn't about KD.

The 2 topics are about 2 completely different dynamics (player-team vs player-agent). You made a total fool of yourself in the last thread and you just doubled down on it.
