Not quite.

The Curry Warriors had a grand total of ONE 50 win season (51 wins in 2013-14) before Kerr arrived.
Curry's teams averaged less than 37 wins a season during the 5 years he was there before Kerr.

his first three years in the league he had ankle issues throughout, including 1 year where he played only 24 games...pretty disingenuous to count those towards his average, tbh.

his last two years with Mark Jackson, 47 wins (lost in 2nd round against Denver) and 51 wins (lost in the 1st round in 7 against Clippers).

Lost in the second round to the Spurs.

Man, I genuinely feel bad for Curry who's now forced to single-handedly the offensive load.

Draymond Green is a terrible scorer/shooter and DeMarcus Cousins is a shell of what he once used to be.

Warriors' needs to invest money for quality depth or else Curry's health will eventually deteriorate.

Hell I'm on the complete opposite view point. Curry has nothing to prove. Next season would be a waste with him going all out and having no other offensive threats around him.

Im actually hoping that Curry gets an "ankle injury" in the preseason and they decide to rest him all year. Trade Draymond during the off-season and just go full on tank mode for 1 season like the Spurs the year they got Duncan.

How amazing would it be if they did that and got the #1 pick haha.

The draft lottery isn't what it used to be. Knicks/Suns/Cavs had highest percentage (14%) & neither of them got No.1 pick.

Nobody is asking him to carry the time to the finals. People on here consistently call him a top 5 player. Well a top 5 player should be able to carry a team including Draymond, iggy, and cousins to the playoffs rather easily. People make it seem like cousins wasnt putting up 16/8 coming off a torn achillies before his quad injury. Hes still very capable of spending the summer rehabbing and getting back to a 20/10 guy.

Draymond was always a triple double threat who was marginalized playing with 3 other goat level scorers. Hes a 14/10/7 guys as a 3rd option.

If cousins comes back healthy, and curry is as good as people claim, this team should have no problem winning 50 games and making the playoffs.

Winning a title is not what anyone is asking him to do.

How resiliant is Steph's game?

That is the question.

He is 100% the GOAT shooter and his peak seasons are way up there.

Could it be that his peak occurred in part because the league was taking time to adjust?

Will Steph unrestrained again prove that he deserves the greenest light in NBA history and score at will?

Tune in to find out.

Makes it that much better if GS ends up with like the 5th or 6th record.

The guys who lead crappy teams to the playoffs says a lot. They may not win it all but it shows a lot. Kobe has done it, Westbrook has done it, Iverson, T-Mac so on and so forth. Now its Steph's turn. I want to see this.

Yeah, nobody is saying bring them to the finals because that would impossible. But show your top 5 status, arguably #1 status and get them to the playoffs lol.

Curry had Klay all his life, and Klay is the 2nd best shooter all-time. Sub Klay for Jason Terry and Curry is very mortal and not much of a carry in the playoffs. He's an amazing ceiling raiser, but his floor is pretty low as far as your offense anchor. Also pretty average distributor.

Lmaooooooooooooooo.
Suddenly all those plus-minus sample sizes where Curry supposedly outperforms his teammates even when surrounded by role players are meaningless.
Now instead of pining for Curry to be "unleashed" from the shackle that is KD so he can continue shooting his 67% TS with role players, it's turned into crying that he's surrounded by role players and Draymond Green. Oh the horror.

Soooooo many reversal of narratives this playoffs. You can't make this stuff up I tell ya.

Lilliard has never led his team anywhere significant.

Harden has a pretty good team, one tailor made for him. He also hasn't won anything significant.

Westbrook is a joke. He has played with James Harden, Kevin Durant, Paul George, Victor Oladipo, and got nowhere

Clearly you missed the point.
What some are already decrying an impossible task for Curry is everyday life for other players.

Honestly, I think it's a great opportunity for Steph.
I don't expect him to carry the Warriors to a top three seed like Harden (I don't think he's physically built for that), but I think a 4-6 seed is a very reasonable expectation for a player of Steph's caliber.
All three of the guys you derided have done at least that much, surely Steph can too.

Again, it's a grand opportunity for Steph. Let's see how significant a season he can produce.

Yup. Warriors will add some MLE/minimum level guys and his sidekick Klay will miss half a season. He's going to see what it's like to be James Harden.

I actually think he will do well, but at the same time understand the limitations of having a team like that. Harden wins between 50 and 60 games no matter who you put around him. When the playoffs come, only the top defenses are able to reduce his effectiveness. Let's see if Curry can manage that.

Well it’s a legitimate question whether he can carry a team or he is just one to dominate with a goat level cast. We’re about to find out.

2015 and 2016 was a goat level cast?v

It should be common knowledge that when the whistles are swallowed in the playoffs little guys struggle. Stwph is run off the 3pt line and gets no whistles when he's hacked in the paint. It's pretty obvious to me watching the games. Regular season whistles make Curry far more aggressive going in to the paint. Finals he didn't want that shot because he would get fouled with no call and its a bad percentage shot.

I think next season Draymond gonna explode for a 25/15/8 season and prove to all doubters he's a top 10 player...

Is it joke or what? If Klay and KD will resings, its 70 mln in salary, who won’t play. Curry + Green + 36y Iggy with rookie/min contracts won’t do wonders in the West conf. Iggy cant play whole season. Green and Curry would have great stats, but its 50% win team at best if healthy.

If I can offer a similar situation that occurred in the past:

The Suns were 62-20 in 2004-2005 lead by Steve Nash and Amare Stoudemire. Stoudemire tore his ACL in the offseason so he was out for the year, and they lost Joe Johnson in free agency. With the addition of Boris Diaw, Nash and Shawn Marion were able to lead the Suns to a 54-28 record with Nash getting an MVP as well, and they made the conference finals.

Based on this, there's a pretty good chance the Warriors will still be relevant next year lead by Curry and Draymond Green. They'll need Looney to keep improving and hopefully their role players spend the offseason working on their 3 pointers.

Outside of prime Jordan/LeBron, just who was dragging that lineup to victory against the Raps?

Exactly, not only that but especially when Thompson was resting or the ~3 quarters he was injured Curry was being doubled and tripled. To see how good Curry is you'll need to add a good amount of role players who can make the wide open shot, which Green(Draymond that is) for example was unable of doing. Hell, on paper James had a semi decent squad this year with "promising" young talent, they couldn't hit 40 wins. It's a talent league and it's 5 on 5, regardless how good Curry is if they don't get him some help next season the Warriors will struggle.

Raja Bell, Diaw, Barbosa, Tim Thomas and Kurt Thomas are way way better players than our rotations players.

If he can keep the Warriors as a top 4 seed next year without Klay and KD he certainly would move up the rankings for me.

1986-87 Michael Jordan (3th year, with Oakley (14/13/4) and Paxson) Chicago 8th in East (40/42)
2004-05 Kobe (9th year, with Odom(15/10/4) and Butler) LAL 11th in West (34/48) (out of PO)
1992-93 Shaq (2nd year) Orlando 9th in East OUT of PO (41/41)
2004-05 Lebron (2nd year) CLE 9th in East OUT of PO (42/40)

Shaq and Lebron were in 2nd year but with amazing seasons.

 :noway:

Imho next year Curry (if healthy, > 70 GP) will have a MVP season level and GSW will fight in the wild West for 5th-6th seed (around 50 wins).
