At the deadline they were probably still expecting a good chance that Kyrie was going to return. The second they figured Kyrie wasn't going to stick around, it would've been dumb for them to throw in Tatum.

I can understand it. AD by all reports did not want to play in Boston. Can’t part with your best asset who is young and cost controller for 5 more seasons for a 1 year rental. Even with AD, Kyrie is headed to Brooklyn so they would probably not even be the favorites in the east.

They will lose kyrie, I don't think that it's smart to trade their remaining assets for a guy who wants to play in new york or LA.

But yeah, their situation if less than ideal right now, they are average considering the amount of assets that they got from the nets. You could say the same about the sixers if tobias and butler walk away.

He regressed first to second year. It’s a horrible sign.

He has a low floor because he is already good... but I have serious doubts as to his long term potential when he doesn’t improve year 1 to 2.

It shouldn’t of even been a question to include him for AD.
