2019 NBA Draft Thread (Thu 7PM ET, ESPN) presented by Duke4life831

Mods lock this bad boy up if you think its too early. But we are 1 day away and Im tired of having to hop on the Bulls and Knicks team threads to talk draft (both having great discussions by the way) haha. Thought maybe startup the GB draft thread.

We have known 1 for a long time, 2 has been assumed but the Conley trade basically made it official. RJ still expected to go at 3, but that might be the first place we see something go down. 4 seems to be all up in the air.

Also stealing this from the Bulls thread, thought this was a sad and funny pic. Having to sit next to Zion leading up to the draft.

Ya to me its hilarious, but when you think about it, its pretty damn sad. This is like the dudes biggest moments of his life and he is just by himself in the corner and no one even knows he exists.

This is the type of draft where a Giannis or Donovan Mitchell outpaces the top 2 picks.

You think NY takes Garland over RJ? Or do you think someone trades up and takes Garland?

Yeah it must be tough. In the grand scheme things no big deal, dude seems to be a lock for a guaranteed contract. But still, that moment has got to be hell a deflating

You think a late 1st rounder is going to end up outshining Zion? I don't see the raw freak athlete late in this 1st round that has that kind of potential. The closest thing to me is Little.

Yes, I have a gut feeling that Zion or whoever the Grizzlies and Pelicans take will not be the best in this draft.

Somebody with better skills and or motor will probably not get as much media hype but out-produce him or Ja, or RJ.

Maybe NY is saying they would pick Garland so Pels don't trade up to get Barrett

Sad thing is, I honestly wouldnt be shocked if one of them did turn and asked him a question. But the question was probably something along the lines of, "So what do you think of the Zion hype?" haha.

Just my personal preference. I'm not as high on Barrett as most people on this board. Garland's shooting ability seems to fit the Steph Curry/Trey Young mold and that's what's sexy in todays NBA.

Yeah, I don't know anything about that guy's life/career to this point but to get to this point he's obviously a very prominent basketball player, so that might be literally the first time in his life that someone has stolen the spotlight by that much. Kind of funny to think about

Cam Reddish might be one of them dudes if he falls far enough.

Cam is that guy that if 5 years from now is a damn good player, you will see a ton of people saying, "It was obvious he was going to be a star, the dude is 6'8 and is a damn good shooter and showed flashes of being a star. He was just held back because he had to play 3rd fiddle behind Zion and RJ."

But if he bombs, "It was obvious he was going to be a bust, he had one of the worst freshman seasons I have ever seen, I have no clue why anyone even drafted this guy."
