I'll go with Anthony Davis. Can see strong cases for Kawhi and Lebron as well.

He finished 16th. Seems reasonable, at least. Was it just how vociferous they were, or did you strongly dispute that ranking?

Kyrie was the runner up like six times in a row and kept getting leapfrogged by someone new. It was a really interesting phenomenon and it drove the Celtics fans crazy.

I remember that and when he ended up going 16th despite tying for 10th I was like that doesn't seem right. Although legit if Kyrie isn't improved in some way this year I am going to have to say he has officially hit his ceiling and that Kemba Walker might be the better player.

Well get Durant off the list.... How can a player that likely won't play a game in the 19-20 season be a top 25 player?

DAMIAN LILLARD ON THE LIST HOTDAMN THE DISRESPECT

AND JIMMY BUTLER WHO WILL BE THE MAN ON HIS NEW TEAM NOW>

TRIGGERED AF BY THE IGNORANCE

Voted Embiid.... Dunno honestly, but could see him realistically putting up ~30 and ~15 with elite defense in ~70 games

Yeah, I love KD but he's got to be taken off the list on a technicality. I know you read this KD so remember GS loves you. Top-2 player when healthy.

Durant would've been my #1 vote if healthy. But now, please take him off the list.

It's Kawhi. He can guard anyone on earth (he bottled up Giannis on a couple of occasions in the playoffs), and has proven he can be unstoppable when he wants to. He's elite on both offense and defense, his only weakness is his passing game but it's not enough to submarine his claim as the best.

Giannis is a veeeeeery close second. He still has glaring holes in his game (his lack of shooting really exposed him in the Raptors series) yet he's already won an MVP. He'll inevitably overtake Kawhi at some point.

LeBron is still LeBron, but he no longer plays defense. He's getting up in age as well, but his production is still elite.

Harden MVP finishes the last three seasons: 2nd, 1st, 2nd. And he took the Durant/Curry/Klay/Draymond Warriors to 7 games, then to 6 games while smoking all other playoff competition.

Durant: torn achilles, not playing.

But Durant has almost twice as many votes as Harden. Is this twitter, or realgm? What has happened to this place?

Jokic and Embiid have more votes than Harden? Harden had three times as many MVP votes last season alone as they've had in their entire careers - combined. That's without his 1st place finish in 2018, his 2nd place finish in 2017, and his 2nd place finish in 2015. Oh, and he's had more team success than both of them combined, having twice lead his team to the conference finals. This is just ridiculous with the Harden stuff. Nobody votes with their brains. Everyone's voting with their... I mean, it's not their brains, whatever it is.

In 2025 somewhere we will see topic "worst trades in Lakers history" and this would be #1.

Curry provides nothing on the defensive end. He’s not even eligible for best in the league.

Paul George > Curry Amirite?

No I prefer Curry because George isn't efficient enough offensively, and has no track record of stepping up in the playoffs and leading teams to the finals.

However, I do put James, Kawhi, Durant, Giannis and most likely Davis (we'll see this season) above Curry because of their ability to dominate physically on both ends of the floor. Curry to me is still above George, Jokic, Embiid.

This has to be a sticky thread.

And Lillard not mentioned in the 10 options is crazy.
