LMAO. OKC isn't going to do that. My guess is there is interest from Miami. They could package Paul with Gallo or Adams and Miami could give up a couple of first rounders along with whoever they want to dump.

If you have Butler, you might as well try to go all in with Paul and another solid vet.

I'd be unhappy if Pat gives up any first rounders for this over the hill malcontent... and certainly no promising players. Matter of fact, pass!

Miami to be realistic, though I also vote for Orlando because that would be hilarious to me.

I'm not seeing CP3 giving a lot of money back in a buyout and I'm not seeing OKC eager to buy him out. If they can find a trade for him, they will do it. If not, he'll stay with OKC.

OKC will not be getting any pickf for Cp3. At best they will get Dion Waiters and Dragic.

The reports are OKC is active. I'd hope they already talked to a team about this before they traded Westbrook.

The picks would be for the value added with a guy like Adams. If they really are the team interested in Cp3 they might as well include Adams or Gallo in the deal. That makes them very good in the East.

Supposedly the Mavs are trying to trade for Paul.

Read on Twitter

A league source told the Miami Herald that the Heat will listen and do due diligence on the matter, but that the Heat does not have strong interest and is not aggressively pursuing a trade for Paul at this time.

Miami would need to be absolutely overwhelmed to consider taking on the final three years and $124 million of Paul’s contract, considering the veteran point guard’s age (34) and lack of durability.

For Miami to consider this, OKC would need not only to take back only unappealing contracts but would need to offer other significant concessions.

Lol. Nobody can possibly be thinking clearly if they think he's getting bought out and going to LAL.

Mavs interest in Paul makes a lot of sense. Also I think Cuban would like the idea of getting a relationship with the NBAPA President.

Hardaway and Lee for Paul would work salary wise.

I think a darkhorse team swoops in. Can the Bucks trade for him?

Thunder should trade Paul and Gallo for Wiggins, Dieng, Okogie, 3 firsts (2 unprotected), and 2 pick swaps. Paul/Covington/Gallo/Saric/Towns would be a legit contender, and the Thunder would solidify their position for greatest war chest of all time.

He would not be a bad fit alongside Shai.

Is OKC giving the picks?

Depending on the team, there could be a need there and they would be sending back short term crap contracts.

Ex - Detroit has Reggie Jackson and Tony Snell making $30m between them. Charlotte has a wide ranging collection of overpaid crap like Nicholas Batum, Biyombo, Marvin Williams, Cody Zeller, etc.

And given the Thunder’s current trajectory, tanking for 3 years is more appealing than crippling their ability to rebuild in years 4-7.

Good point.

I wonder if there is any precedent with this new CBA of a player REALLY wanting to play for a contender, so asking his current team to waive him agreeing to pay back part of his contract (for example: CP3 signing a subcontract that says if OKC waives him, they will only be on the hook for 50% of what he is due)?

That would be a negotiated buyout, which is currently in the rules, but the NBAPA looks down on giving too much back to the team. And Paul is the NBAPA president at the moment.
Also, the sheer amount that would have to be given back to make it worth it for OKC makes it impracticable.

It's crazy . I think the deal is on hold as OKC tries to get Tyler Herro from the Heat. Also, the Heat are interested in Bradley Beal and whether he takes the extension being offered. If Beal turns it down, then Heat have interest for Beal and taking on John Wall's contract.

Bucks need a point guard. Paul would get them to the Finals for sure. Less pressure for G and Middle to hit big shots in the playoffs. Allows them to play comfortably.

Boston could use his experience.

SA would love him, but trading Aldridge or Derozan would be a lateral move.

Det don't need two injury prone players being their main guys.

Miami got cap issues. Draft picks would have to be coming back for that to work.
