OKC fans i feel for you man.

Post#1 » by SparksAC » Fri Jul 12, 2019 9:24 pm

You had KD Harden and WB. You kept the worst player out of the 3. You finally got another superstar to pair up with and shipped him to the Clippers. I have no idea what the franchise is doing.

What do you mean they "kept the worst player out of the 3". Rip the Harden fiasco all you want, but nobody in OKC ever chose to let Durant leave. If Durant had come to Presti and said "its me or Westbrook, you choose", Westbrook would have been out. Him bailing to Golden State was an unprecedented move in US sports. Hell, 2 days before he left he told Westbrook and Collison to their faces he was staying. Nobody in okc made the choice to send him off.

Rebuilding with a massive amount of first round picks, that's what they are doing. What they had or may have had is in the past. The past cannot be changed, but the future can be shaped.
From the basketball's perspective, travel is a nice pause from being pounded to the floor.

We're good, but thanks for your concern.

Also, zero And 1s on a troll thread is quite the accomplishment

Ya but the way Durant was treated made him want to leave. They gave WB too much power
This is all part of the management fault. They should have known to focus in on KD and traded WB. Imagine KD with Harden.

Years from now, posters on the internet will be asking what happened with the 2010s Thunder.
I remember your posts from the RPOY project, you consistently brought it. Please continue to do so, sir. This board needs guys like you to counteract ... worthless posters

Glad to know we have a Thunder insider on these boards. Why didn't you break the George trade before Woj?

They're lucky to have had a successful team from year 2, with lots of fun squads to watch. Welcome to the reality that most fans suffer eventually.

They messed up after they traded Harden. They were just lucky enough that it took this long for it all to finally collapse, but Presti has an insane amount of draft picks. I think he has 2 1st rounders for the next three years, then 3 1st round picks in year 4 and 6.

They’ve been one of the few consistently good teams in the league this entire run. It could be a lot worse.

I dont get what is it to feel sorry about. OKC has been a pretty consistent good team for quite sometime now. It was pretty clear they hit their ceiling with this current team. Westbrook's contract is going to become untradable very soon. They got a massive return for PG and got a ton of picks in return for Westbrook. I won't be surprised if they look to ship out Gallo for picks and see if somehow they can turn CP3 into any kind of positive young asset.

So they have been competitive for a long time, noticed their window is closing so now loading up on 1st round picks to rebuild. Sounds like a pretty well run organization.

PG requesting trade is the best thing that could've happened to them. They were stuck in 5-8 seed hell for years to come with him and Westbrook without any hopes of improvement. Letting Harden go is probably one of the biggest blunders in NBA history, but Presti had no choice.

They had a good run but couldn’t win the big one. That being said if i were an OKC fan i would much rather be in rebuild mode than getting bounced in the first round yearly while my highly paid players age out.

Lots of irony that that young promising big three was broken up early because of a rule designed to punish big markets.
Only 7 Players in NBA history have 21,000 points, 5,750 assists and 5,750 rebounds. LeBron has double those numbers.

That’s the OKC side of the story.

The real story is their owner didn’t want to pony up in the luxury tax and made a horrible Harden deal. And if all fell apart from there.
