Most - wings.
Least - not wings.

Power forward is an extremely blurry position right now. You get a Kawhi + PG you don't really care which one is the "power" and which one is "small".

Point guard is still important, it's just a role these days being played by different players from Rubio, to Harden, to LeBron.

We're in the era of positionless basketball - there is no most/least important position right now.

SF is least important? What?!

Kawhi
Durant
Lebron

How many collective chips have these guys won since 2012? GSW (Barnes, Iguodala) and DAL (Marion, Stevenson, Peja, plus mia/injured Caron Butler) had good depth to compensate and throw options against Lebron.

SF has been most important and it’s not close. If you don’t have long athletic 3D wings to slow down Lebron, Durant or Kawhi, then good luck winning a chip.

Least important is obviously Center, seeing as the last 10 champs have started roleplayers and vet min waiver pickups.

Traditional shooting guards? Been superseded by scoring PGs and by 3&D fowards.

It is more about player profiles than positions:
MOST: playmaker-scorer (LeBron, Curry, Harden, Jokic...) and elite two-way player (Kawhi, Giannis, George, Embiid, Davis...)
LEAST: old school center-rebounder and also a defensive specialist

Most important positions- guards and wings.

Least important - Center, power forward.

Today’s league is a perimeter oriented league. When was the last time a team led by a big won a title? Dirk in 2011.

Jokic, Griffin, Love, Davis, cousins, KAT, Drummond, Aldridge, Bosh, Vucevic, none of them have ever even been close to contending for a championship.

The closest one is embiid but he had three other all star on his team, and even then he couldn’t even reach the finals.

Most important are wings who can play like ball handlers. Least important are bigs (although bigs are still important).

Positions are an anachronism. The who attacks with the ball the most is the most important on offense. The guy defending the rim/PnR is the most important defensive player.

Traditional positions say very little about what the player actually does on the court.

Bruh, the last 8 FMVPs have been won by small forwards.
Also, something that might surprise people. I think when it comes to athleticism, agility, physical attributes and skill I rate LeBron only in the top 50.

SF / wings can never be played off the floor and are never a liability, unless they shoot less than 30% from range. Offenses will usually target either the PG or C for buckets / to create havoc leading to easier buckets elsewhere
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.

Lebron plays the point...leonard plays as a wing. Get out of where with this fake small forward thing.

most important: ball handlers

least important: non-ball handlers

Your superstars better be able to handle the rock. If they can't, you're in trouble because they will struggle to create their own offense in the playoffs.

Depends what you mean by important. It’s toughest to fill the SF and especially PF with elite talent so to say SF the least important just ain’t right.

PG or SF most.

Least SG.

But you have any holes in your starting lineup and you’re not winning it all.
