Lowery better not make the hall of fame. It would be a disgrace to the true NBA greats. Guy is a really solid player and scrappy as hell but HOF, na I'm good.

And none of them have a Ring so I guess that could put Lowry over

Rasheed?

Lowry might make it. It's not a lock though.

Lowry is far from a lock but would be very close to a Chauncey Billups level. But just looking at guards, Tim Hardaway, Kevin Johnson and Sidney Moncrief are all bigger HOF omissions than Billups.

What an absolutely terrible post.

Calvin Murphy, KC Jones and Bill Bradley are in the HOF among others, take 5 minutes and go look at the career stats and accolades for each of those players.

He is the Ben Wallace of PGs. No stat is ever going to tell his story the right way.

Besides having been an all-star the past five years, Lowry has been in the top-6 among PGs in RPM each of the past 6 seasons and has posted double digit WS in 4 of those 6 seasons...yet so many believe strongly that he doesn't belong in the top-10?

According to the current poll

46% has him 6-10
28% has him 11-30
26% has him 1-5

I mean,it's a pretty fair voting sample, the "overrating him" posters are the same as the "underrating him" posters.
Why are you singling one group out?

I was really talking about the thread comments as opposed to the poll. Many in the thread question whether he's even top-15 and one person went as far as to say that anyone who ranks him top-10 is "agenda driven and willfully ignoring the truth."

I'd expect him to start taking consistent steps back each season at this point, but I'd still have him in the 6-9 range, though probably closer to the latter for this upcoming season.

I wouldn’t put too much stock in a GB poll

Oh, so you think I’m anti-Lowry? That explains the confusion. Top 15 player, not PG. Keep up mate

He can create off the dribble and is also a very good three-point shooter.

He's been taking 7 three-pointers per game for the past couple season at hitting at or close to 40% so I don't know who that's not dynamite from three. Majority of his points comes from threes. And don't forget this was with DeMar beside him with no floor spacing.

Really? I cant name ten PGs over him.

In no order:
Curry
Westbrook
Lillard
Kemba
Simmons

But then
Fox, Conley, and Trae Young are probably on a similar tier to Lowry IMO.

Curry/Lillard/Kyrie were better last year. Lowry has a case over every other point guard. If you stress playoffs a lot, you can drop Kyrie from that list

Why would you drop kyrie from the list when he has been significantly better then lowry in the playoffs for their career?

playoff kyrie:

24/5/3 on 45/40/88 - 56 TS%, 21.5 PER

playoff lowry:

15/6/4 on 42/35/79 - 54 TS%, 15.5 PER

did kyrie lay an egg vs. the bucks? sure... but lowry has laid a bunch of eggs in playoff serires.

Interesting how this thread somehow turned into a Kyrie vs Lowry debate...

Your first problem is that you’re trying to measure Lowry in box stats. That’s like measuring Draymond in box stats. There’s a reason Lowry has been better than Kyrie in RPM/RAPM every year. He’s more complete/more seamless/and more conducive to a winning formula. I’d call that better.

The playoff Lowry narrative was always a hoax (contrived by ppgz people) but even if it wasn’t he put that to rest this year. Compared to Kyrie who stunk to high heaven.

Give Lowry on his prime LeBron and he's in the Finals 3 straight year with better %s. Take Kyrie away from LeBron... and we've seen how that goes.

I always was a fan. A lot of so called stars go to great lengths to avoid setting a decent screen. Kyle relishes it, at the PG position no less. I have to look no further than that to see his commitment to teammates and winning.

Hoax? so lowry shooting under 40% from the field in playoff series losses didnt really happen? several times?

Top 10 PG sounds about right. He might slip to top 15 if his decline accelerates. He does all the little things that helps wins games but doesn't show up on the stat sheet.
