Right now he is top 5.

Career-wise I have no damn clue, he’s well outside of my top 20, probably in the 30th range.

I hope and pray you mean overall, and not among PGs. Lowry can create off the dribble FWIW, and shoot 3s on high volume/solid efficiency.

So the poll title says "Current PG Ranking".

Then you say "Career wise and the player he is right now at the point guard position? "

You don't see how that might be confusing?

Are you talking about ranking his entire career OR his current rank for last season or this coming season?

I'll remove the career-wise part. That was meant to be more of a discussion rather than voting. Votings for current at the moment.

He can create off the dribble and is also a very good three-point shooter.

He's been taking 7 three-pointers per game for the past couple season at hitting at or close to 40% so I don't know who that's not dynamite from three. Majority of his points comes from threes. And don't forget this was with DeMar beside him with no floor spacing.

All time
Magic Johnson
Steph Curry
Isiah Thomas
Oscar Robertson
John Stocton
Walt Frazier
Jason Kidd
Steve Nash
Chris Paul
Gary Payton
Tony Parker
Chaunsey Billups
Nate Archibald
Russell Westbrook
Lenny Wilkens
Dennis Johnson
Kyrie Irving
Tim Hardaway
Kyle Lowry
Dame Lillard
Penny Hardaway
Kevin Johnson
Steve Francis
Baron Davis
...

So he's Top20 after the ring, but if for example Lillard gets a ring he goes way up,or even if he has 3 more years at All-NBA level he goes past Lowry for me-even with no rings.
(Although i'm sure i'm forgetting 5-10 point guards, especially from the older days,so i'll say Top30 All Time to be safe).

Current
Steph Curry
Dame Lillard
Kyrie Irving
Russell Westbrook
Kemba Walker
Jamal Murray
Ben Simmons
Chris Paul
De'Aaron Fox
Trae Young
Mike Conley Jr
Eric Bledsoe
Kyle Lowry
Lonzo Ball
Ricky Rubio
DeJounte Murray
...

And the reason why he's out of the my top10 is cause he's 33 years old.I'm expecting a quick decline at this point.
He would be even lower if i could rank D'Angelo Russell and Jrue Holiday as Point Guards, but they'll be starting SGs this season so i can't do that.

His career isn't over yet. He's already a Hall of Famer.

He's not exactly a young pup out there. And he's far from a lock for the hall.

He's a lock. Go look at his career achievements and then find me someone who is similar but didn't get in. I'll wait.

Basketball-reference has him at 65%. He's a one time, all NBA 3rd teamer. How many hall of famers is that true for? He's a late blooming, good but not great player.

Dudes easily a lock. Multiple time all-star, long career, winning team, winning both an NBA title+olympic, and, while there isn't an official standard, i'd think holding multiple records for his team and being the greatest Raptor ever would absolutely give him points.

34.7% is “close to 40%”?

He’s 36.7% for his career. That is average.

Even if you eliminate his first 6 seasons where he was worse, he’s at 37.8% for his past 9 seasons.

That is good. Not great.

At the moment he's definitely better than SImmons. Anyone who actually watched the playoffs can appreciate that. And Jamaal Murray doesn't have 20% of the impact Lowry has on defense.

Ben Simmons can never hold Lowry's jockstrap.

Simmons is laughably overrated

If C is the position where defense is the most important then PG is the least important. Lowry is an excellent floor general but 14ppg in this era of deadly scoring PGs? For the most part every other PG mentioned other than Simmons is north of 20ppg and Lowry got his 14 shooting 41% overall. Yuck. This is a big year for those saying Lowry is better than top-10. If Siakam isn't quite ready to step up as the team's marquee scorer it'll be interesting to see where the Raps get enough points to be a playoff team. Can Lowry manufacture enough good shots for his teammates to be a good team?

That is good. Not great.

You can't use career three-point numbers on a player who never came into the league as a three-point shooter. He is also a late bloomer who slowly added it to his game. Yes he had a down year this year at 34% but he also took 7 attempts per game that's literally Brealy Beal numbers this year 7 attempts on 35%. He also was suffering from a thumb injury this year which he had surgery for after the finals. He is a high volume three-point shooter who has been hitting at or very close to 40% in the prime of his career. In the past 6 years when he became a full-time starter and 5 time all-star he has had two bad three-point shooting years. Last year and his first all-star appearance in 14-15. 16-17 season 8 attempts on 41% then 17-18 season 7.6 attempts on 40%. Arent those numbers an elite three-point shooter?

Lowry's past 6 years the averages are 7 attempts per game at 38%. While playing beside DeMar who provides zero spacing.
Bradley Beals career averages 5.7 attempts at 38%. Past 6 years 6 attempts 38%.
Kyries career averages 5.4 attempts at 39%. Past 6 years 5.7 attempts 39%
Lillards career averages 7.4 attempts 37%. Past 6 years 7.7 attempts 36%

As you can see Kyle is one of the better three-point shooters in the league. He take more attempts then Beal and Kyrie while keeping the same efficiency while he gets **** on for being a poor shooter the others get praised as great shooters.

Then you got Curry who is on another tier.
Currys career averages 8.2 attempts 43%. Past 6 years 9.7 attempts 43%
