Pretty good player, but his ego and Rick Pitino ruined him. Good handles, decent passer out of the post. Only problem is that he was rarely in the post since Pitino told him to stay outside and shoot as many 3s as he wanted. Jim O'Brien tried to reign him in, but it was too late. Dude thought he was a "veteran All-Star" and became uncoachable in Boston.

I won't lie though - he was a fun player to use in NBA Live.

Probably, but in today’s game, he wouldn’t be ALLOWED to take 20 shots per game and have 27% to 29% usage rates (unless a team was tanking). I think that’s what the poster meant.

I heard his shooting action described as somebody hurling a dead possum at a wall. That was pretty apt.

Worst player I have seen suit up for the Mavericks. He took shots repeatedly out of much better players hands without a care in the world.

He was my least favorite player back in the day. He was a slightly above average player who thought he was a superstar. His efficiency was terrible and the volume of shots he took was only justifiable in his own mind. His advanced metrics were terrible.

He was the kind of player you hate to play with, because you KNOW he's going to shoot WAY more than he should and not play a lick of defense.

When Ainge became GM he stated that the Celtics had one foundation player (Pierce) and quickly traded Antoine Walker away. That's all you really need to know.

I really believe to this day that Antoine Walker could have been a special player but had the wrong coach and GM (Rick Pitino). Pitino pretty much let Walker do whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted and Antoine Walker's game never grew. Good player but really overrated.

Jim O'Brien is the coach that let Antoine do what he wanted.

Antoine Walker's biggest issue was lack of a 4-point line.

Lol, that seems relatively low volume considering kobe's rep.
Blake Griffin shot 7 per game this year. Omg.lol.

Antoine play style was too early for the game. He was a stretch 4, when he was expected to be in the post. He took a lot of 3’s partly because his defender would be closer to the rim when he got the ball outside.

I’m a Kentucky and Boston fan so I should be singing his praises but I’m a realist. Walker wasn’t good, especially for the era he was playing in.

Solid handles, could pass when he felt the urge, not a bad rebounder.

Terrible defender, no leadership ability. Blew his millions and tried to get back in the league at 40.

Terrific example for young players on how not to do it.

He invented modern NBA and analytics. He Shot threes because there were no fours.

He's probably one of the worst All-Stars of all time. Definitely the worst x2 All-Star of all time.

Francis is definitely a lot better than both these guys.

Duckworth though, he's pretty close. I might still say Walker because he was a x3 time All-Star to Duckworth's 2. But it's really hard to say, both are not good lol.
