Tonight on Clipscast (podcast) Chris Wylde (B or even C list celebrity who hosts the podcast) claims one of Iguodala's close friends or family members told him Iggy to the Clippers will be done on Sept 3rd. Not sure if it's via trade or Memphis buyout agreement, but he's scooped a couple things in the past, so he may not be making this up.

Also implied this was the big news Montrezl Harrell was talking about last month on "the league is really gonna be scared now" or whatever. Good fit or bad fit if this ends up being true? My personal opinion is moves needle very little besides in playoffs the occasional stop or big game. Biggest value would be keeping him away from other contenders so they don't have him to throw at PG/Kawhi in a series.

Shams reported last month that the two teams pursuing him the hardest are Rockets and Clippers. ESPN and Marc Spears said Iggy was basically their target as a last piece.

How likely is this to happen? If it does happen how will it be to have Bev, PG, Iggy, Kawhi to throw at teams?

I'm not even sure how much this helps. Just thought it was somewhat interesting. As I said IF true my biggest positive is it keeps him from the Lakers or Rockets. I don't want to deal with Iggy's defense in a playoff series.

seriously what does the clippers bench actually need position wise, we all know iggy is a no brainer addition if your a playoff team and he wants to join, they must be thinking of goin small with harrell at the five sometimes im guessing

Iguodala pretty overrated at this point. He won't be the reason the Clippers win/compete for a championship.

i seriously think both lakers and clippers regret one or two of their signings with better players still available or going to become available, i think the clippers should take a hard look at joe johnson, jr smith, faried & joakim noah, all would strengthen your bench
point guard wise its not too many options at the moment im sure players will become available once teams trim down in training camp or for cap reasons

You guys need Kenneth Faried IMO. He would be a huge get for the Lakers. The Lakers need more gritty junkyard guys IMO to battle other team's benches. Faried may be a specialist but he never stops competing. He's tough.

What does Iggy hope to add? Will he even get minutes in the playoffs on that team?

It makes sense for the clippers to keep him off other teams but it doesn't make sense for Iggy. Leaning towards a trade proposition here.

This. But I would like him on the Lakers, think he can play a Shane Battier role.

only way they get him not eh 3rd is via trade. If he gets bought out, I don't think the Clippers are the no brainer choice for him and I can't see that being a done deal now.

They'd have to trade Harkless, and perhaps Robinson as incentive.

Harkless fits so much better IMO...

Iggy, while a big pick doesn't make a huge impact not the Clippers; Closing games they are no daubing going to have Harrell/PG/Kawhi/Lou out there. If you take Beverly out of the final and replace him with Iggy, that's probably a step backward. If you take Harrell out and run with PG/Kawhi/Iggy/Lou/Beverly, you don't have nearly enough size (although the perimeter game is insane). If you take Lou out, you don't lose a dynamic scorer.

I think Iggy adds more playmaking and experience but Harkless is the better PF option.

Maybe Iggy and pick for Harkless and Kabengele.

Clippers still have a 4.7 MLE saved for a guard probably.

Still in huge difference maker in a one possession playoff game that will get a decisive block/steal/deflection the same way he did against Lillard in the POs last and bron in 2017.

It's the same as having a player like Robert horry on your team, cause at some point in the POs he'll make a game winning play

Every year Iggy is done and every year he delivers in the playoffs. Eventually he will age out but we will only know afterwards. People who have been predicting it keep getting burnt.

Iggy was huge for GS in the playoffs THIS year. Its laughable that he's "done". He'll make the Clippers perimeter defense a nonstop nightmare.
