He has been much worse on that end than expected.

I'm most surprised that Zion hasn't registered a single block in 4 preseason games. He averaged nearly 2 a game in college.

Maybe he just isn't trying on that end because it's preseason?

Ive barely seen him even leave his feet to contest a shot in the paint. Im hoping its just a preseason thing, but really its the constant blowing rotation and leaving his man wide open on the perimeter that is bugging me the most. Whoever his man is, has been wide open all preseason out on the perimeter and you see a ton of really late and lazy closeouts by him.

He's been going 100% on offense, probably just needs conditioning for NBA. It definitely seems like an effort thing and it's possible he was told to go hard on offense and relax on defense by the pelicans coaching staff.

I hope not. I feel like that is the worst thing you can tell a rookie. If anything you would think they would say, I dont care about you're offense, I want you to get your timing and awareness defensively down.

I was hoping Dean Wade was just Dwyane Wade wearing a fake mustache. Oh well.

Well he's a big marketing tool. It's smarter for the franchise to have him put up gaudy stats right now as the priority. Keep the momentum going.

Defensive effort can come with time and conditioning.

I am really going to miss Holmes.. great player.. I do hope Baynes will be able to provide more of a veteran mentor for Ayton and help further his development.

The suns really wanted their backup C to be able to space the floor. I do love Holmes energy on defense and rolling on offense.

NAW needs to start, i'm convinced

Holiday
Alexander-Walker
Lonzo
Zion
Favors

with Jackson, JJ, Moore, Ingram and Hayes to round out the 10 man rotation

if you include Melli and Okafor this Nola team can go 12 deep really

Absolutely not. He looks much improved, hes even hitting his free throws at a decent clip. Mind you haven't seen today game against the spurs, but overall hes been better.

Go check his shooting numbers and get back to me.

Zion is gonna have a ridiculous PER as a rookie.

Maybe even in the top 10.

Can Caris LeVert be the Nets’ third star?

LeVert was the best player on the floor in Brooklyn’s 91-77 win over the Los Angeles Lakers. He scored 22 points in 22 minutes, shooting 8-of-11 from the field and 3-of-5 from downtown. LeVert recorded five assists and three steals, too.

No other player on either team scored more than 14 points, and no defender on the Lakers — not Avery Bradley nor Kentavious Caldwell-Pope nor Danny Geeen — had an answer for LeVert’s herky-jerky antics with the ball in his hands. To make matters worse for the defense, it appears he’s hitting threes now, too.

Zach LaVine has looked very good. All star seems likely for him this year. Just nice to see him bounce back from his ACL tear to be playing at such a high level.

Levert looked really good in the playoffs, last year. He has good size for a combo guard/forward.

I like his play making skills and scoring thru contact.
