Draymond Green listed at 6’7.....now 6’5

Marvin Bagley listed at 6’11......now 6’8

Kevin Durant listed at 6’9.........now 6’10

Kyrie Irving listed at 6’3.........now 6’2

Derrick Rose listed at 6’3........now 6’1

Kemba Walker listed at 6' 1........now 5' 11

Donovan Mitchell listed at 6' 3........now 6' 1

All measurements are without shoes.

Marvin Bailey is not 6’8”. He measured 6’9.5” barefoot in 2014.

The PA guy accidentally called him 6’8” in a preseason game and people ran with it.

I mean it's pretty consistently minus 2 inches from what they were listed as before, which is about the height shoes will add, rounded up. Even Durant was considered "7ft" anecdotally and is now 6 10.

Several of those new heights have either not been verified or proven wrong. Celtics for example listing Kemba at 6'0" but of course it is likely a round up from like 5"11 1/2" if it is even honest to begin with (as nba forced this policy on teams and players).

You do realize listed heights have been shoe listings for the most part for 35 + years right?

Jordan and Kobe have both has been measured 6'4 1/2" range barefoot. Jordan on multiple occasions.

NBA's new forced policy is poorly executed , causing mass confusion among casuals in several regards and already being cheated quite a bit with some listings and many more to come.

What did they expect when shoving this down teams and players throats and then letting them self report ? Lol.

I'm 5' 9", but don't feel insecure. Yet, I have to admit I do feel better with these newer measurements for some reason . NBA players always looked tall and huge when I saw them walking togehter, but there were always arguments when you saw them up close about their height or took pictures with them.

Pictures tell the story...

6'10 barefoot is not the same as 6'10 3/4" barefoot and vice versa which kid is being listed as 6'10. Kd is pretty much a 7fter w/ shoes.

Sure, it's just perception. But the new height listings make them look more normal. Don't we measure our height w/o shoes? I think a regular guy who is 6' 4" is a big man, but in the NBA, he would be a good sized PG.

The heights are still going to be inconsistent, the Knicks are listing RJ at 6'7 even though he's shorter than Zion, they are listing Randle at 6'9 even though he was measured at the combine. The Celtic heights from today were all round numbers too.

MAN.
How can people be so insecure about those inches.
One would think they are measuring dicks.

Isn't the main difference that they previously listed the players in shoes, and now they are listing the height without?

Many of the current listings are basically an inch shorter, which is effectively what adding a shoe would add.

None of the new listings have really stood out when you consider this.
Why so serious?

Kobe is actually 6'4 though. 6'5 with shoes.

All I want is consistency. I don't care if it's with shoes or without shoes. Just give us the same damn scale.

It’s good. No more players trying to find the tallest soles they can before measurement. Barefoot is your true height, so they always should have been measured that way.

Shoes are not all the same the thickness of the sole can vary greatly. It is much less informative and less accurate if you measure height with shoes.
As someone else already mentioned in another thread many players are not even wearing the shoes they are playing in when they are measured. I really do not get the idiocy of wanting the standard to be measurement with shoes on.

People wanting to know the truth are insecure, but players and the league historically inflating them are not? Great Logic.
I wonder if american engineers and physists use the MKS or follow these innacurate metrics so bindly. I happen to have my guess.

When I was graduating and doing my master's - was about soccer history - i knew the heigth, weight and age of a lot of players. I don't know why in USA of all places it has to be so obscure to know these basic informations.
