I was thinking about guys like him, Gervin, and McAdoo. Not the most complete games but they could put the ball in the damn bucket.

When I think "ultimate scoring machine" I think a guy who can get his, no matter what, even if he is cold. Somebody whose scoring also holds up against significant resilience. Nobody embodies that more than Michael Jordan imo.

Man I love your choice and that guy 8-)
I hope he carves out a nice career.

Otherwise KD is my choice. From a pure scoring standpoint to me he's the guy. That length, that shot, the mobility is unmatched.
I just don't know why he didn't or doesn't average like 40.

Are you upset because LeBron isn't listed?

Serious question: how many guys have averaged 35 points for an entire season? With 55.9% TS or higher.

Or how many guys have also averaged 31 points for a season on 58%+ TS?

Or how many guys average 28+ PPG over a 13 season period?

Or how many guys have had an 81 point game, 6 sixty-point games, 26 fifty point games, and 134 forty-point games?

You simply will not win an argument against Kobe being an all time great scorer. The stats are against you. And so is the eye test.

I love how much he hates Kobe

Sasha Vujacic is the only correct answer here.

Even begrudgingly a lot of people still acknowledge the right answer - Kevin Durant - at least until we see otherwise.

I am sure that had he never left Oklahoma City and brought even one title there the vote split between him and Jordan would be even.

The guy who will be first in total points in NBA history in a few years.

And he's not on the poll.

Add MJ and I like this list.
Melo is underrated as a scorer, at his peak their was nothing you could do.

Who's that?

Actually he only scored over 40 per in 2 of those 7 seasons , but over the 7 year period it would average out to around 40 points a game .
A lazy 24 to 25 rebounds per game also over that period.

This Basketball God was known commonly as ………...

WILT

adjust for pace and he's never crossed the 30 point mark.

In a bubble it's wilt.

But wilt needed the ball.

So the correct answer is someone who could get the stop on one end take the ball up and score at will against the other teams full defense. And the man who did it better than anyone when it mattered the most.

It's not Wilt. He averaged fewer points per 36 in the playoffs than Dwight Howard. Even with a tonne of extra possessions.

Jordan is perhaps the most tireless scorer. Big numbers and consistency. Even against the best defences in the playoffs. If you need a guy to score 50 then he is clearly the guy.

Nobody gets as hot as Kobe. Some of his individual game scoring sprees were the stuff of videogames. Problem with Kobe is the consistency. Not as reliable as MJ and therefore not the same level of scoring machine.

"Getting hot"? I think Curry has something to say about it
