Can't take this seriously if it doesn't include David Thompson.
or Daryl Dawkins.

Im from Toronto and watched both: Blake Griffin is #1. And to not even have Blake on this list invalidates the entire legitimacy of this thread.

Not saying he's anywhere near 2nd in dunking but... Dunk contests are one thing but for in-game dunks I like Kobe more than lot of these dudes.

It’s probably Blake for in game dunks.

Baseline reverse dunks are actually a lost art. We see it every now and then but the way Kobe did it in traffic was crazier than the ones we see today

i refute this thread title...

dr j was the best EVER and he can never be overstated. so vince is #2.

carter's MOST memorable dunk was in a contest, and if that is the case, then go to youtube and you can find dunkers better than carter. ALL of the dr's best dunks were all in game. dominique was a better in game dunker than vince, imho. and more to the point, drJ made the dunk the basketball player's greatest form of self expression!!! the players we see today are all because of the doctor.

Yeah I think there’s definitely an argument that Vince Carter’s most memorable dunk was in the Olympics.

Personally, I’m surprised by all the Lavine love. He’s an amazing athlete, but for me, a great dunk shouldn’t look effortless, it should look like you were dead set on punishing somebody. I’d probably go with Blake or Nique.

Seriously??? You're either too young or was in a coma during the Vinsanity years. Here's a reminder...

I feel like the top 13 or so everyone has seen, but the 15-20 range maybe not. Some absolute dunks in there.

How the hell does Aaron Gordon make the cut? He's a poor mans Blake Griffin and Griffin isn't even on the list.

Also, LaVine is probably one of the greatest in-contest Dunkers of all time but as far as in-game dunks (Which I view infinitely more favorably), he isn't even better than T-Mac or Kobe. The only thing he has over those two is a higher vertical but that's it. Can't dunk through contact, traffic and is about as creative in the air as Lebron.

Wilkins. What was once said about Vince Carter was he had the power of Wilkins with the grace of Jordan. Personally I preferred the power of Wilkins over the grace of Jordan when it came to dunking

When I made the list, I was really trying to keep it limited to the guys I thought would garner the most votes. Considering the results of the poll so far (Lavine in 2nd with 14 votes), I don't feel too bad about going back to include him at least.

I think it's cool that there's a lot of different responses so far and that opinions vary. Some people value pure dunking ability, while others prioritize doing it during a game. For whatever its worth, the fact that they coauthored a top 2 all-time dunk contest is great for sure, but I actually like both guys' body of work to this point, and I think they'll add to their highlight tapes going forward.

Kobe was great, T-Mac was great, I think Blake Griffin's become kind of underrated, David Thompson is a deserving legend. There are definitely a lot of guys who were wonderful dunkers.

Personally, I'm surprised Jason Richardson and particularly Shawn Kemp have fewer votes. I didn't' think there was much of a debate between Kemp Vs. Blake, for example.

I think that Wilkins is the best in-game dunker ever, closely followed by Dr J and Jordan.
