Billy Donovan was my first choice before Russ trade, now I have to go with Frank Vogel or Brett Brown tbh
Celtics fan.
We also face the Kings twice in the near future. I think it's time Yabu pays back some of that free money he's been given his entire career and bounces Fox for a nice 2 week ankle sprain.

Maybe Dwane Casey if the Pistons are out of the playoff picture in the East. Billy Donovan/Scott Brooks are probably past due.

I'll throw a dark horse out in Alvin Gentry. The Pels are going to get a ton of coverage this year and if they don't start out well the first half of the season I think he's toast. I'm still amazed he's their coach tbh he's a complete retread

What's wrong with Gentry? He's a good coach, dealt with a lot of crap last season that wasn't his fault.

Based on what he did the past few years? Not a chance. He survived the Paul-Blake-DAJ era, he will survive two months of under-performing knowing PG won't be 100% from the get go and Kawhi potentially still has health and durability issue throughout the RS.

The earliest check point is the post season.

I know there's a lot of nuance in evaluating coaches but how is he a good coach? He's had pretty limited success and bounced around quite a bit

The media already wants Kidd to be the head coach based on how much they showed Kidd versus Vogel on TV in the preseason games. And Lakers always do what the media wants eventually - they are the media’s team.

It seems like it would be awkward for Morey to admit a mistake like that by firing his coach midseason after costing the league so much money. He might want to keep a lower profile midseason.

fair enough.

I'll say D'Antoni quits. He's done it before. Especially if the James/Russ pairing turns out to be bad, then he's toast.

Plus he's a lame duck coach.

Absolutely Vogel. Mike brown was fired within what, a two-week span? Lol LeGM already has his pink slip papers on his desk.

I’ll 2nd this. The Wizards are going to be awful but their owner always expects them to be better than they are. Brooks will be the scapegoat.

There are so many new coaches around the league that I don’t see a lot of other possibilities at this point. If Presti didn’t let Donavon go the past 2 seasons I can’t see him getting fired in a low expectation season.
