no way this happens. kawhi wanted to play for Rivers.

You actually believe him? Everyone knows Rivers is overrated. Him and Ainge are living off their ring 13 years ago. Kawhi is just boosting doc/PG up to justify leaving the world champs to play for the clippers.

But give him a team with a bit of turmoil and he'll stabilize the franchise and carve out a nice workman-like identity.

I think Detroit needs that. But if the owner has expectations beyond what Casey can do, and they recognize it early enough, he's gone...or at least on the hot seat early.

I don't think he ends up gone, though. Just b/c Casey basically signed with Detroit through ownership, not management. He politics better than a lot of coaches and always gets in with ownership so he can save himself when his coaching incompetencies become apparent.

 Give Casey the roster Nurse was handed and the breaks they received and the result is the same.

As a by-product of the game becoming so homogenized, the impact of coaching from an x's an o's perspective has become marginalized. It basically comes down to whether you have the roster construction built to thrive in this era, which in turn limits decisions (big vs small, offense vs defense, scheme).

If you give casey this roster we beat Orlando in 6 or 7. Or we beat or lose to 6ers in 7. Then we get swept or lose in 5 against Milwaukee. Nurse is in another class than casey. Casey's a regular season coach. Nurse is a championship coach.

Usually the first one to go is when a hasty Owner and/or GM unfairly has big expectations for their Team and blames the Coach when they quickly dont live up to them. In this case, I would say Brooks and Fizdale has the best odds to get fired first.

I’ve said it over and over. Rivers is overrated, and cries himself out of losing situations. I’m not advocating for Rivers, here bud. But he isn’t doing anywhere.

 At calling Rivers "overrated" while hyping up Nurse. He'd have had the same results Casey did had he been stuck with his flawed rosters. He got lucky, but of course is receiving far too much credit because he's white.

Leaning towards Vogel, because Lebron/Kidd.

Vogel... followed by D'Antoni, then Scott Brooks

I don't think race has anything to do with this. Casey and his system was heavily outdated like his suits from the early 1990s. Nurse is far superior as a creative coach (making adjustments, experimenting with lineups, and open to change). Casey is most likely on his last stint as an NBA head coach w/the Pistons.

People always take shots at Rivers and either ignore or scoff about Lue, yet every white guy who wins a championship is made out to be a genius.

Oh, really. Please tell me what Nurse's "system" is? Copying the latest trends (like most) and letting Scumbag do whatever he wanted, is not innovative or creative.

It worked because his team didn't have any significant holes and the Warriors were decimated by injury. Don't let your homer broadcasters (who have probably long been buddies of his) and big wigs in the U.S. national media he cozied up to, fool you.
