They added Jimmy Butler and are deep on paper. Like their team a lot

How exactly are they deep on Paper. Outside of Butler, their roster is extremely mediocre
I think they're pretty deep if they stay healthy. They had a lot of injuries last year or they probably would've made that run they usually do.

The Magic only made minor changes adding Fultz and Aminu but it still might take a while to gel.

2. The Heat and the Magic were very close on the defensive end with the Magic finishing the last 30+ games as the BEST defense in the NBA. Not sure why you made it seem like a significant gap.

The Magic should be better on defense with Fultz replacing that Grant bum, and adding Aminu on the bench who's also a great defender. Should be pretty much the same offensively though.

1.Adebayo is more likely to take a leap in stats than Isaac. At the very least they cancel each other out.

2.I was comparing the offense of all 3 teams more than the defense. I even said that the Heat might slip defensively.

Did the Magic make better upgrades than the Heat over the Summer?

1. I'm not saying I agree with a huge Isaac leap, my problem is with people who always bring up huge leaps for one player, than a teams fans brings up their bum players taking a huge leap as well, because one person can't make a leap without the rest of the league doing the same apparently.

2. The Magic and Heat will be teams that seem like they'll both be below average offensive teams carried by their defense.

The Heat easily had the better offseason, Herro and Butler should help a lot. I think Leonard is being massively overrated by Heat fans, but the rest should be good additions.

But I never said who had the better offseason in my previous post, so not sure why this was brought up. All I said was that the Magic added to their defense with Aminu, as well as the fact that we're going to start off better than we did last year because we no longer have the worst player in the NBA in Jerian Grant in our rotation or Jonathan Simmons whose injuries have turned him into a bum.
Hopefully Fultz will add to our offense, without losing much on defense.

I think Hawks, Bulls, Mavericks and Pelicans will have better seasons than most people think. Nets, Warriors and Clippers will underperform mostly due to injuries.

I get having them lower, since I think there is a big gap from 2 to 3. But out of the 8 seems wishful thinking on behalf of those less fond of the C's.

Why do you have the Pacers 2nd? Oladipo is not even starting the season

How exactly that ranking helped your team to make playoffs. Top five my ass this Heat team is flowed and only reason it somewhat competitive is because Spo/Pat run their system. This is a bad team that have a really good chance on missing out again.

GSW, Raps and Heat is not a lock to make playoffs.
Bucks
6's
BK
Indy
C's
Rest of that trash is unpredictable.
Denver
Utah
Houston
LAC
Portland
LAL
San An
Mavs, GSW, Sacramento maybe NO can make a push. I only put Mavs there because I think they'll get rim protector during the season. Ibaka, Adams etc I think will be there to obtain.

Orlando won 42 games (tied for 6th) last season and I'm expecting a third year leap from Jonathan Isaac. On paper they've got a solid 8-9 man rotation with versatile defenders.

I guess you could make a case for Miami over Detriot, but I don't think there's a huge talent disparity between the two rosters. Miami does have a substantial coaching advantage though.

Did Orlando add a star? Also, the Heat only won 3 games less and were unhealthy last season. If you're expecting a 3rd year leap from Isaac you got to expect 1 from Winslow and Adebayo too.

Roster-wise, the Heat are MUCH better than the Pistons. They only won 2 more games than us last season and we added Butler. Outside of Griffin and Drummond, who do they have?

Both the Magic and Pistons were only better than the Heat last season because they were slightly better offensively but we had the better defense. I think the defense will slip a little this season but with the additions of Butler, Herro, Leonard, a healthy; Waiters, Dragic and James Johnson this Heat team should be much better offensively this season.

We lost Richardson but you got to imagine that Butler is worth at least 3 more wins.

Saying the Heat are MUCH better is ridiculous. The Pistons didn't add a star but we greatly improved our bench. We were literally playing 2-3 players each night that shouldn't even be on a roster (Leuer, Robinson, Galloway, Maker, Pachulia, Calderon). Rose was a high efficiency 18ppg scorer last year. We expect Kennard to take a big jump in his 3rd year. BTW, we were pretty much a lock for the 6th seed but Griffin banged up his knee the last month of the season and we dropped to 8. So yeah, every team can cherry pick improvements but the reality is that MIA, DET, and ORL (and imo BOS, TOR, IND, and BKN) are all VERY close to each other. I could see any of those teams being the 3rd seed or just missing the playoffs. Personally, I have ORL or TOR just missing but again, who knows.

Really? You "greatly" improved your bench? You lost Ellington who helped your offense out a lot and gained players who don't figure to be much better than the ones you lost. If anything, the Pistons are worse this season than last season. Rose is a high usage player that doesn't play defense and what are the odds that all 3 of Griffin, Drummond and Jackson are very healthy again this season?

It's only preseason and these stats are not very accurate but it should be obvious that the Heat are in a different league than the Pistons when so far the former has a net rating of 20.1 and the latter has a net rating of -4.4. Olynyk and JJ haven't even played yet.
