Clutchness can't be defined statistically. Shooting percentage is mroe about the style of play than clutchness. Kobe was agressive shooter, especially in clutch. His style works, as is evidenced in 5 championships. The best player on the team should be the one that shoots the ball.

Let’s give it a cast and scenario. Durant’s 16 Thunder team vs GS after blowing the 3-1 lead. Give me Kobe. He doesn’t defer to Russ. takes Iggy to the woodshed on one end. Harasses Klay to a drinking problem on the other.

Easily Kobe, he is going to go all out and give you his all.

Durant's going to be a coward and take 19 shots like he did in 2016 game 7 vs warriors. Durant is a cupcake who was embarrassed in his only two challenges (2012 and 2016). Kobe on the other hand is a savage tough player who will lay it all on the line.

Durant has never overcome one challenge or tough opponent in his career, he has no mental toughness. Always bailed out by having a stacked team or his opponent getting injured. He has coasted in the playoffs his entire career.

Give me the winner, Kobe. It takes something to be able to build and grow with a team that wasn't really a favorite into a finals contender. His motivation and hunger to win and win one (two) without Shaq is the type of hunger I've never seen from KD and I'm a KD fan. For that, give me Kobe. You know he's gonna go all out for you in a game 7.
