Brown might be taking a gamble here because the Celtics have so many (too many) wings. He is bound to be a #4 option, and history suggests that #4 options do not put up big numbers in this league. And like it or not, the contract thing and the desire to put up big numbers will be on his mind the whole year and in general, I feel like that this can lead to worse performance.

He's making 6 million off the rookie scale. He's a decent starter right now despite being forced into a totem pole and you think he should earn the salary of a backup? The same salary as Seth Curry and Doug McDermott?

This is why it made zero sense for the Celtics to not trade for AD or Kawhi. Now they are stuck paying these guys on potential.
