Saying that he should lose weight is not hating on him, a lot of fans have been unnecessarily defensive.
There are people who love his game and want to see him succeed, but we're not blind.

Love Jokic. Love how he plays, love how he zigs when everyone is zagging. But...and it's been mentioned before...he needs to drop some pounds for his health. Right now he's not injury prone (partly because he's ground bound) but it's not gonna get easier to trim down a little.

Don't wanna see him over 300 by 27, and unable to play in the high altitude.

I don't get why he doesn't get in shape. Wouldn't being lighter make him also slightly more nimble on defense? I think there is no reason for him to be heavier than 270 lbs.

Shouldn't carrying the extra weight be bad for his knees in the future as he ages?

I don't know what his current weight is but 270 seems like a dream goal looking at his current "form".

He said he prefered playing at 275-280 lbs last year. He tried playing at around 15 lbs less but felt like he was getting pushed around more at that weight.
