He might be one of the worst defenders in the league. At least players like Kyle Korver try and play team defense... Randle doesnt even care and kills any hope the team plays any kind of defense.

He is also a blackhole on offense and an empty stats player. He makes the offense of the team worse. Rebounding is the only thing he is good at.

Its very funny that Kanter is known as "cant play Kanter" but Randle, who is basically the PF version of Kanter, still has people thinking he is good.

Knicks fans should face reality and stop thinking he is "struggling". Thats who he is.

You might want to look at the definition of overrated. For that to happen, a player needs to be held at higher regard, than his actual on court value by at least some portion of people.

He looked promising with the LAL, but he hasn't evolved his game

There is a reason why the Mavs didnt want to sign him as FA in 2018 and 2019...even him being from Dallas etc...

First, there is no Randle hype--lmao. Second, it's not the Knicks fans that rate Randle as some sort of star. E.g., you'll find people on this current thread arguing that Randle = Love + a first:

Knicks fans, on the other hand, have always seen Randle for what he is--a guy who can give you inside scoring and rebounding, but little else. Nobody thinks that this guy is a star....

A few weeks ago the most overrated player in the league was Tatum. Everyday there is a "most something in the league". Jesus, these threads gotta stop.

Was one of the more over-rated prospects of the last decade. I don't see why anyone would be surprised at what he is as a player. One of the emptiest stat stuffers in the league. Not as useless as Wiggins and Okafor, but doesn't contribute to wins.

When was he even rated? Outside of a few overly eager knicks fans, nobody thought this guy was more than a volume scorer on a bad team last year.

There was a small buzz here preseason about Randle being an all star.

Knicks fans aren’t singing his praises at all(at least this one isn’t). Randle is TERRIBLE. Very much so a black hole offensively, thinks he’s a lot better than he is, and plays awful defense. He’s just not a winning player — doesn’t make winning, heads up plays, and he doesn’t hustle. Even if one was to look at him and say “oh, he’s just struggling,” it’s not a struggling thing, it’s a stylistic thing. Him getting his numbers is often at the cost of good team basketball(because his isolations involve him holding the ball for 2-3 seconds before going into a 5-6 second post-up where he’d rather die than pass the ball).
