poor visibility conditions again

there was an espn reporter and others that died just before the lsu/georgia game in a plane crash likely related to similar poor weather conditions

these pilots need to be safer.

I don’t have any sports clothing or memorabilia in my crib. Gotta get a dope Kobe wall art piece. What better reminder to go hard every day.

What saddens me the most is how Kobe worked his ass off for 37 years and was just starting to enjoy the fruits of his labor post-retirement.

Kobe put in his blood, sweat and tears in the league for 20 years and 3 and half years ago he finally was able to retire and enjoy his life with his family and young daughters.

Knowing that his 3 year old and newborn daughter will have to grow up without knowing him makes me sick man.

This isn't how it's supposed to end for Kobe **** Bryant man. RIP to the Mamba and Gianna Bryant and my deepest condolences go out to Vanessa and Natalia.

This is a place for government regulations. Helicopter pilots invariably work for very rich, powerful people. They typically don't have the power to say no. Government regs that say pilots can't take off in X conditions would help alot.

Not calling Kobe by any means. Just saying that government should step in.

Def one of the most recognizable sports faces up there with CR7. We truly lost a legend folks..

Just a terrible tragedy all around and prayers and condolences again to all the families involved. In terms of placing blame solely on the pilot- in my own humble opinion we can’t and shouldn’t do that. That pilot is paid and he probably felt extreme pressure to get his party where they needed to be and maybe Kobe himself was pushing for him to fly despite the conditions and get his daughter and teammates to the game/tournament.

Sometimes you go against your knowledge (like flight conditions) etc to make high profile clients/customers happy. Too many unknowns to pass blame on anyone or 2nd guess. What we do know is 9 lives were lost and that’s a tragedy. Just a sad sad day

Still trippy when you are lucky enough to see the Gretzky's, Tiger, Manning , Brady, Montana, MJ, Bird, Magic Lebron Kobe etc types and he's the only one that was cut short like this thus far. You know you might not see one like them for a long time if ever again. You don't forget something like this as an avid sports fan.

From ESPN:

In New York, prior to the Brooklyn Nets' game vs. the Knicks at Madison Square Garden and prior to their shot-clock violations, it was announced that guard Kyrie Irving would not play for personal reasons, so as to mourn Bryant's death.

"As an organization, we're devastated. Our players are devastated," Nets coach Kenny Atkinson said. "We have a player [Irving] that's very close to Kobe. Our thoughts and prayers are with him also. Just a tough time for the NBA for all of us."

So he was the only one mourning?!? But what else you can expect...

Even though at his peak he was obviously amazing, I always got the sense that he isn’t content or happy with his life. It was only up until his final year where I truly felt he was happy in life. Obviously I don’t personally know him but that’s the feeling I got, and it’s truly saddening to see him go at such a young age. Kobe could become the CEO of a multi billion dollar company one day and I wouldn’t be surprised, that’s how much respect I have for the guy.

More crazy numbers-type stuff...after the dual 24-second “tribute” violations in the Spurs-Raptors game, the very next shot by Lowry bounces up and sits on the backboard, directly under the number 24 on the shotclock. Not only that, but the player who gets it down is #41 Trey Lyles..which not only was the age Kobe died....but who also happened to be guarding Kobe in his final 60-pt game.
