Something like this is far more reasonable. The NBA could also consider a "Kobe Bryant Trophy" for whoever wins the scoring title.

As a huge kobe fan, no. Nba logo is already phenomenal and can't be more perfect than this.

If that’s the case they should’ve made Jordan the next logo when he took over the NBA world in the 90’s.

I don’t agree that change is always good either.

I would not mind if Jordan made it on the logo, either.

Give it some time. This is not the right moment to make such decisions as big as changing the logo of the game.

The logo does not represent Jerry West they just happened to use his likeness it's not like they call it the "Jerry West" NBA.

It's tragic that Kobe and his daughter died, absolutely terrible, and I feel so sad for his family, but..

He is a top twenty player that died after he retired. Are we going to change the logo when MJ, Magic, Shaq, Kareem, Dr J, Lebron, Crurry, Duncan KD, die? Kobe was a very good player, but no need to canonise him.

I'm completely good with it happening if it does, but let's not make it sound like Jerry West is hogging the logo.

Not what I meant at all, but could totally see Jerry West doing the unveiling.

West was the one who saw young Kobe amdafe the trade for him. He said at the time that, "This high school kid is better than most of the players on our team"

And if MJ or Duncan or someone else passed away tomorrow? Do we then change it again?

Not being disrespectful, I've shed years today too but there are other ways to honour our heroes and family.

i always heard that jerry west never even wanted to be the logo in the first place..idk if thats true

but i mean if you do change it, it has to be mj, the greatest player of all time, some of these threads are coming from an emotional reactionary state i think, we cant make drastic changes and decisions when we are vulnerable like this

You bugging. Kobe was top 5. Always felt this way. He should be the logo. Jerry West Finals record is worse than Lebron. No need for him to be the logo anymore

no.. simply because the nba has spent way too much effort and money promoting that logo as its brand. purely for business reasons.. SHOULD they do it? maybe/probably... at this point, casual fans dont even know that the logo is of a specific player from the past. WOULD they do it? no.. 100% no..

Great idea. It would be a fitting tribute without going over the top.

Ha, just posted in another thread. Whipped up some low quality logos, G-League and League.

The answer to the question is no, though. League logo should not be changed. I think the G-League logo is more appropriate, if anything.

Kobe's an icon, and the league should be represented by an African American imo.

To me it's fitting

It’s look weird have one person being the logo for the league, especially if it isn’t even a silhouette

It already is....by every great African-American player who has played.

and it is also represented by every great Caucasian player who has played. And every European player. Just because the silhouette of Jerry West was used, doesn’t denote the race of the league’s players. Every race has had a significant impact on the game and made it what it is.
