Is the 2020 Draft class as weak as people suggest?

I keep hearing people say this is one of the weakest draft classes of the last 10 years.

Also who would you say the sleepers of the draft will be?

Who knows. We have had "weak drafts" that have turned out really good, and "good drafts" that have turned out really bad.

In terms of who the "sleepers" might be, that's hard to predict as well. Unless you're Masai Ujiri, that is. ;)

Wiseman suspended some top players hurt others playing oversees. Right now lacks top end talent many pgs but some depth.

It's weak in terms of a clear cut #1 or even top 10. There's actually a lot of players i really like in this draft - but they're more obviously role players. It won't surprise me in the least to see the best player out of this draft to be outside the lottery.

No one knows. The 2014 Wiggins/Parker draft was supposed to be the most stacked since the Lebron/Wade/Melo/Bosh draft and only one guy in the top 10 turned out to be a star (Embiid) with most of them being busts. On the other end the 2011 draft class didn't get much hype yet a Kawhi/Kyrie/Kemba/Klay lotto is great and nobody aside from Brandon Knight, Jimmer and Derrick Williams really busted the others all became semi-valuable role players.

I think it's fair to say this year's draft lacks an obvious potential future superstar but it's always such an unknown that aside from the Shaq and Lebron types I don't feel comfortable speaking with certainty about a class being strong or weak.

There are no weak drafts, just weak scouts.

How good is this Wiseman guy? Is he a generational talent can put Warriors back to the map and reclaim the dynasty?
Personally, I think his build and athleticism alone is close to D12.

LaMelo Ball,Obi Toppin,James Wiseman, and Anthony Edwards will all be All-Stars in the NBA. The jury is out on Jalen McDaniels but he was a lot of similarities to Kevin Durant.

Obi Toppin could be the next Giannis Antetokoumpo, 6’9 220 and fantastic off the pick and roll with a refined skill set in the post. Anthony Edwards could be a Top 5 shooting guard in the NBA, 6’5 with unlimited range and superb athleticism. LaMelo Ball is a 6’8 Curry/Harden.

It's definitely not a 2018 draft, that's for sure

It looks pretty weak. The biggest problem is that a lot of the blue chippers in this draft haven't played much due to a variety of circumstances so you can't really scout them as extensively as in most years. The ones that have been playing like McDaniels, Anthony or Edwards for example have not looked great or even good.

2013 was the most weakest draft in recent memory (Hello Anthony Bennett!) and was projected to be weak. Though this draft had Giannis in the mid round and Gobert at the end of the first round.

Time will tell.

I have to say, I'm not in love with anyone in the draft, and I won't be sweating or hoping that so and so falls to our pick, etc.

Someone will emerge that was unexpected I'm sure, but I definitely don't love the top talent.

The fact that LeMelo is considered a top 3 pick should tell you all you need to know.

Well his brother was taken at #2 over: Tatum, Fox, Markkanen, Kennard, Mitchell, and John Collins. Maybe teams should temper the hype on Ball and just take someone else.

Even though LaMelo has the benefit of extra publicity, at this point I think the 'Ball' name has a negative connotation. I think he'll get drafted legitimately based on how scouts rate him (which is not to say he can't get overrated or underrated by certain teams.)

I hear is a weak defender and cannot shoot. I am starting to wonder if he is even a top 10 player now. The bigs are starting to move up in a lot of mocks, but it seems Ball is staying steady in the top 3.

Nobody knows and there are no experts. Wiggins and Parker were getting fitted for their HOF jackets on draft day.

Im a massive college basketball fan and keep up with high school recruiting (sad I know). This is the draft class Im least excited about since 2013. I actually think this class will look really similar to that 2013 class, especially if LaMelo goes #1. Just like 2013, you had many people laughing at the idea of Anthony Bennett going top 5, let alone #1, I think many feel the same about LaMelo.

If I got to bet on the best player from this draft coming from the top 10 or the field, Id take the field. Id be happier if my team ended up with a pick in the mid teens and landed a raw athletic wing like Josh Green or Scottie Lewis over taking someone like Wiseman, Cole or LaMelo top 3.

But who knows, I thought 2016 was a very weak draft outside of the top 3, while that class had a ton of busts it also had some nice gems in there as well. So we will see. If anyone of us actually had a great eye for this stuff, we would be getting paid for or thoughts, not spewing them on a message board haha.
