Beal should demand a trade

Hate to see a prime, top AG waste away in Washington D.C.

Where do you want to see him play?

He’d be great in Philly. Something around Tobias + Josh Richardson? Crazy money but Washington would have a more complete team with Wall, Harris, JRich.

He knew how bad they would be when he signed, he's perfectly fine wasting away his prime by his own accord.

If Washington finds a great deal of young assets and picks, they should obviously make that move but no one should feel sorry for this player lol

He just signed an extension of his own free will. Not sure why people get unhappy on behalf of people who aren't unhappy.

Wasn't eligible to be traded this season but can be traded in the offseason if that's the way the Wiz want go.

He's gotten them in spitting distance of the eighth seed.

Beal can't really request a trade now. He would have to wait until the offseason and by then Washington might feel obligated to move him without any request.

That’s how you do it in the nba. You don’t take a pay cut to sign with a new team. You sign the extension and then demand a trade later. That way you get best of both worlds. Like Paul George and countless other examples.

Why should he demand a trade? He playing hard. He’s gonna to get paid. Not every player is entitled to a championship caliber team.

Who knows. Things can turn around for the wizards with the draft or wall coming back.

The nba of all major sports leagues in USA is probably the easiest to turn a franchise around since only 1-2 players can make such an impact on winning. Look at lakers. Lottery top 3 picking team for last 3-4 season before Lebron came last year.

He decided to stay when he signed the extension. The team can consider moving him this off season but maybe Washington begins to win when John Wall returns. Clear rebuild since Wall went down with the injury.

Beal
2019-20: $27,093,019
2020-21: $28,751,775
2021-22: $34,502,129
2022-23: $37,262,299 {Player Option}

Harris
2019-20: $32,742,000
2020-21: $34,358,8502
021-22: $35,995,950
2022-23: $37,633,050
2023-24: $39,270,150

I think he probably will when he's eligible to be traded but at the same time he made his bed... And a pile of money to go on top of it.

Not sure what he thought would happen when he and an injured, aging Wall are making nearly two thirds of the team's salary cap now. It's gonna be extremely hard to add winning pieces to that roster.

No he should stay there for the remainder of his contract and try to turn them around. He knew what he signed up for.

Good to see the responses in this thread.

Hate to see how some fans don't care to see loyalty in the NBA.

I'd rather he stay there and help build Washington into a championship caliber team. Washington hasn't been able to do much since the 2017 Playoffs, but there's still time. If Wall can get back to being tradable I'd rather he be moved instead.

I agree

He hasn’t spoken at all about wanting to the leave the team...is actually trying to stay loyal and build with the wizards

And fans want him to pull a Paul George etc

He just signed an extension. He’s literally not even eligible to be traded by league rules until the summer.

He really had all the leverage in his corner, but decided to commit to the organization with the 2 year extension, so he must be content with the situation.

No, the money goes under the bed.

The Beal signing will ultimately benefit both parties, so hopefully it won't ever need to get ugly. Beal gets his money, and his trade value also increased at the same time because he's young and just starting to enter his prime years.

Goes to show the supermax and other hometown incentives don't work. Players will still find a way to go were they want. There really is nothing the NBA can do about it. I expect Beal to demand a trade shortly after he's eligible. 100%
