Tom Brady is the unquestionable GOAT if he gets a ring this year.

He's been the unquestionable GOAT, at least QB, for a while now

KD hasn't won a legitimate title in the eyes of a very large portion of fans.

I can't think of any player that needs to win a title for the sake of their legacy, in any sport, more than KD.

However if he wins one after fully tearing his achilles, that title would be even more amazing than the other ones were questionable. It would even potentially add legitimacy to his GS titles in some people's minds.

KD is in a class of his own in regards to this question. I don't care who you add to the poll, KD should win it (even though I see somehow he currently isn't).

Granted I'm not a big football guy, but Rodgers first ring was already a signature statement. It showed he could replace bret favre in green Bay without a problem. Durant needs another ring in a bad way and that ring would mean a lot. He would go from joining a 73 win team and being second fiddle to curry to delivering new york their first nba championship since 73. It would go a long ways for most people to erase "the next chapter."

Both are already proven champions and dont really need another ring. But it would be a bigger boost for Rodgers seeing that it would be 10 years apart from his first title.

put Rodgers on the Patriots and he has just as many rings as Brady

Rodgers has had one top 5 defense in his entire career and guess what... he won a Super Bowl that year

Brady has had a top 5 defense or top 10 defense pretty much every single season

Brady has had the top defense in the NFL two times in his career. 2003 (won SB) and 2016

Brady had a top five defense four other times. 2004 (won SB), 2006 (lost CG), 2007 (lost SB), and 2009 (lost WC)

Give Brady Rodgers receivers and he wins at least one or two more.

I don’t get the comp. You could arguably say Brady vs. KD since there’s at least some question of who made who between him and Belichick.

Gronk is the best weapon of anyone the Pats or Packers have had in the past 10 years and it isn't close

that aside, your notion that receivers/weapons are more important than defense is quite amusing

This argument is never ending but Tom Brady won Superbowls with Troy Brown and David Patten, with Antowain Smith at running back. The best receiver he's had in the last 3 Superbowl wins was Julian Edelman, who was a college qb. Gronk was injured for one of the Superbowls as well so that argument doesn't hold much weight. If you want to argue coaching then fine but the Pats weren't a top defense every year and still won Superbowls. The 2011 Pats made the Superbowl despite being ranked 31st in yard allowed.

This argument isn't particularly close, Brady has had more team success, better overall numbers, more longevity, and a higher peak with his 2007 season.

you are one blinded individual. Brady himself is on record stating that Rodgers can make throws he can't.

Yeah, revisionist history is dumb.

I agree. Doesn't mean it wouldn't happen.

One season can change the narrative of a player's entire career. Without 2011, Dirk would still be called a soft choke artist by a lot of people.

I mean, it already did. KD's "unstoppable" most definitely wasn't a thing when he was the primary defensive focus of teams in okc.

Player "proved x" often really means "i'm going to ignore that player's teammates are different."

When it comes to winning, Brady is the best. Almost any type of statistics when it comes to winning, it's usually Brady. Top quarterback when own team gives up 24+ points...Brady. Top quarterback in comeback wins when trailing at 4th quarter...Brady. Most wins when the quarterback has to throw 50+ times...Brady etc. Brady just knows how to win.
