It's odd that people go crazy over Gretzky's 11 scoring titles, but Jordan's 10 scoring titles are just looked over.



Fact is, 10 scoring titles in the NBA is fcking amazing, and probably won't ever be matched!!!

Wilt would have exceeded it easily if he had not changed his playstyle.

And he would have kept on losing. He changed his play style in order to finally get a ring.


There's a reason that there's only 3 people to lead the league in scoring and win a title. It's fcking hard!!!

anyone see the difference? in MANY years Gretzky scored more than 50% more points than the #2 guy in the league and he peaked at 70% more than the #2 guy. That would be the equivalent of MJ putting up multiple 45 point seasons and peaking at about 52 pts per season, whereas in most seasons Jordan's scoring title was earned with only 10% more than the #2 guy, not 50%, 60% or 70% more like Gretzky!

Nonsense. Wilt lost because he had a substantially worse team. His scoring led a previously bottom of the barrel team to an almost defeat of the reigning dynasty. His team lost by 2 with neither him nor Russell having any real impact on the last bucket by Jones. Wilt's team lost 4 times to the Celtics by a combined margin of 9 or on average 2 points. In other words, Russell and the Celtics were damn lucky to not lose a single of these tight series despite having more talent on their roster.
Or to put it more succinctly, Wilt´s scoring despite all the shallow arguments brought up was not a problem. Mediocre team mates were. All it proves that even someone as dominant as Wilt needed the right team and right coach around him. Jordan and Shaq had one of the greatest coaches of all time for most of their career. Wilt had Hannum for 2-3 years in Philly.
