I think some fans are jealous of players and always have one player that's the bad guy they hate. The Durant hatred went way way way overboard into insanity if you ask me, and a guy signing free agency isn't enough reason for a rational human to start hating another one in that way.

Disloyalty is way more palatable to left-leaning people. That's why they're pro-choice and seem to care more about the tough situations of groups different from their own. I'd estimate that over 80% of KD apologists are left-wing. That would be interesting to find correlations between political preferences and certain NBA opinions.

Uhhh....wut? If someone is so turned off by the floor saying black lives matter and players echoing the sentiment then odds are they have to big of a racial hangup (nicest way I could put it) to be a steady long term fan of the NBA (where, hint...most players are black).

Interesting, that's how I always thought of it. Left is the coddling mom while right is the unsympathetic dad. Either side to its extreme can be toxic childrearing.
