I don't think he was quite on their level but when you factor in his strength and restriction from how dribbling/traveling was enforced he may have been closer to it than we realize. Probably equal or above harden tbh and I'm also fairly high on Harden's overall athleticism. I think Robertson's quickness is generally underrated. He was lean and muscular early on. Really built a lot like a young Wade.

Let me jump into my time machine.

Oscar was physically very similar to Harden - huge legs, thick lower body, very powerful and yet he was extremely coordinated and had underrated quickness. He's not the fastest and although very good, his vertical is not on the level of the most athletic guards.

Still an all-time prospect and combine that with his quickness and BBIQ - you get one of the best players ever.

Harden is fine. The difference i speed comes from having to have your hand on top of the ball to legally dribble.

Very dynamic offensive player but I always thought of him as a 6’5” Chris Paul physically from the footage I’ve seen.

He would have eaten Harden alive.

He was supposed to be quite athletic we don't have clips of him dunking but I believe he mentioned how when he was younger in a street game he went up for a dunk and got pushed pushed into the pole while in the air by an opposing player, as dunks were seen a disrespectful showboating in that time, so he didn't dunk in games following that.

Probably more a mix of strong and athletic than fast and explosive which is what some people refer to when they say athletic. Probably like a smaller LeBron with a little less vertical.

Dude has quads. Put him in a 2020 era strength program and I bet he'd be a complete truck.

you're talking about 50years of changes in basketball. back then athleticism wasn't even the point of basketball

He was listed as 6'5 205lbs, Paul was 6'1 175 lbs and looking at footage, yes I agree this is a good comp with Oscar being leaner and more muscular athletically.

A 6'5 Chris Paul is a pretty awesome player.

98% of the time, I am wrong more often than not

He looks very athletic. Whats stands out if his strength (he gets that shoulder around guys and they crumble) and balance. He also did one move on that highlight that had me thinking he would be a beast with the Eurostep.
