Hopefully he stays with the blazers. He found his niche there.

I'll give 2-to-1 odds he's a Laker next year.

Portland can keep him.

Here's what I'll say as a Blazers fan who's flipped and flopped on him throughout the year. He can still play. He's not great. I don't think he'll be "wanted" but I also don't see why he won't stick in the NBA. He's a really limited defender, but he can still have good offensive nights. I think the key with him is a 15-20 minute a night limited role off the bench where his minutes are more correlated to how young players get minutes.... is he playing well tonight? Is he hitting shots offensively and focused in on defense to where he's obviously not great but at least trying on that end? If the answer is yes, I'd look for about 20 minutes, if the answer is no... maybe 6-12 minutes.

I could see some teams wanting him. He's changed his former selfish narrative into a guy that stays in shape, is prepared, and fits into a system and doesn't mind being the 2nd or 3rd guys on the pecking order offensively. I definitely see him on a team next season no doubt.

Didn't Houston bench him in part because he didn't want to go along with their game plans (switching defense, stretch offense, etc.)? I feel like Dame gets some credit here for leadership, too, because Carmelo is hustling in what is very much a role player role. He's camping in the corners for spot threes, running off the ball, and he's not a great defender but he's putting work in on defense. Nurk had a bad reputation in Denver before he came to Portland as well.

He's 35 36 and not getting any younger. He's playing out of his mind for Portland right now but going forward, I can see him getting bench role/vet minutes if that's something he can accept in his future.

I think he'll get offers but likely not anything with starting minutes.

I've already eaten Crow once with him, so I dont want to say that he cant get major offers.

If Portland makes it to the playoffs, he'll be exposed again as a very incomplete and unreliable player. So go Blazers, go make the playoffs please.

I see a lot of posters hope their teams don't want him. Good, I hope he stays a Blazer for cheap.

He was paramount in the last 2 minutes against the Rockets made two great defensive plays and hit a nice 3 pointer to give the team a 5 point lead.

Anyone that saw the game would say the same damn thing, does he struggle defending sometimes sure but he definitely is bringing effort on that end. **** that Rockets game might be one of Melo's most solid performances overall.

Trevor Ariza, an actually good playoff wing, outclasses him.
Moe Harkless and Al-Farouq Aminu would definitely be better replacements despite the flak they've gotten their entire tenure.

He's a spot minute player in the West and a rotation player in the East.

Melo has hit the clinching shot in both of our wins since the restart. He also made a big steal and block late in the Houston game. He's very much a positive for the Blazers.
