Like Kobe's, better in theory than practice. Needed Phil to keep him in check and play team ball.

Yeah, it's hard to rate anyone against CP3 (who weirdly has no votes yet), but MJ's was extremely high. I'm not mad if you say the best ever. I've always felt two of the most overlooked aspects of MJ's game were his passing ability and his extremely low TO%. I made an all-time passing team on 2K this week, and the 12th spot came down to Luka vs. MJ. I went with Luka in the end, but that should give some idea of how I view MJ as a passer.

Jordans BBall Iq was off the charts. He knew how to stay a step ahead of everyone without coming off cheap like Harden does now. Knew exactly where to be and when to strike to make a good defensive stop against all 5 players from the opponents team.

His offense speaks for itself. He just flat out mastered it period. If I was to give his BBIQ a number i'd say it's pretty damn close to 100. Let's go with 98. I'll give CP3, Kidd and West a 96. Harden a 94.

Any way you want to. There is no definition, so it is up to you. Ability to make right play on the fly without the help from another person (coach etc), predicting how players will react on certain situation using previous knowledge how players in general or that individual have reacted on previous similar situations. You can't really take any stat from boxscore and point that stat shows how good players basketball IQ is. Usually high basketball players have high assist numbers per minutes played while having few turnovers, but even that really ain't a good measure. Most of the time you just need to watch the game.

Example of basketball IQ from Harden. Spurs in playoffs: Harden's primary defender's job was to keep his hands away and only defend his 3 point shot, while another player was waiting under the rim. Harden failed badly. He didn't know what to do, because what Spurs gave him was mid range shot. During that series he didn't find a way to beat that defense (and neither did their coach) and they lost. So Harden's in-game basketball IQ failed him. But during the off season he learned floater and that is a example of having good off-game basketball IQ. But does these both count as basketball IQ it is up to you to decide. Personally don't count latter as basketball IQ, but lot of people do.

Wait, why the hell is Harden on this list?

No Lebron? Kobe? KG? Stockton? Duncan? What in the name of Bigfoot is going on here.

Also - why West appears in the list but East doesn't?

Why wouldnt he be? i wouldnt pick him, but he might be in my top 10. he breaks the rule book every season. He has popularized many moves like the 3 step euro, his toe tap stepback, the double stepback, drawing fouls on handchecking defenders. he makes great pnr reads. Why shouldnt he be there. Its not like hes using some insane skill like otherworldly shooting, or overwhelming athletecism, yet, hes scoring more than curry, and slightly less than Jordan.

Playoffs, His playoff failures are a result of skill and talent, I wouldnt say he can mentally overcome arguable the greatest team of all time in the warriors, and he hasnt lost to anyone else yet in embarassing fashion. He's not my favorite, but harden clearly needs more respect on this board.

Top 3 were Bird-Jordan-Magic. Not sure what order but I lean to that order.
My eyes glaze over when reading alternative stat (not advanced stat) narratives that go many paragraphs long. If you can not make your point in 2 paragraphs it may not be a great point. :D

The OP reads like a troll post even if it isn’t. So many names omitted. MJ was highest on the list though.

Just for this list, Kidd, CP 3 and West > MJ.

No.
If you're asking me who the Mavs best player is, I'd say Luka. A guy like Delon Wright probably rivals his impact though at this stage in his career. KP may as well if he gets his **** together.

The best? No. Jordan had terrific athleticism that allowed him to do things others couldn't. That's what made him exceptional. His basketball IQ is a murkier business. I simply cannot rate it that highly because I would assume it would help him off the court as well. As the owner of a basketball team I assume he has to rely on it to some extent. His lack of success as an owner prevents me from rating him high. Compare to Jerry West's success as a basketball executive.

Lol kinda crazy people think that in order for Jordan to be the best he has to be the absolute best at every portion of basketball.

Jordan at this point is pretty much a myth. A strange case of a player who is arguagbly the GOAT and at the same time an overated player.

He did have a good to great IQ, but there is a lot of players who were better. CP3 for example.
