Miami is in the driver's seat to become a dynasty next summer. Can add 2 max deals to Buter/Herro/Bam!

Pat Riley has set the heat up to become the next elite team in the NBA. Already a finals caliber team this year, next summer they will have an almost empty roster and they'll be able to add to the Butler/Herro/Bam trio.

Herro will be on $4 million on his rookie deal.
Bam will be an RFA but his cap hold will be only $12 million, so they can sign two max deals and then resign him after.
Butler is making $36 million.

Insane to think they could add Giannis /Oladipo to that trio. Or Giannis and just about any other of a ton of good FAs.

Even if they just land one max guy and resign a few of their current role players I think they're just in an incredible position to really leapfrog the rest of the East including Brooklyn and Boston.

Won't matter if they have to face LeBron and AD in the Finals. They still won't be good enough.

In 2021 if they got even one of Giannis, Kawhi or PG, they would be the favorites

Duncan Robinson and Kendrick Nunn will only be like a combined $5 million dollar cap charge for 2021 (for which they can exceed the game to re-sign both) too just fyi

Miami's scouting team needs a raise, they have killed it with some of these project picks

I get the gist of your message, but they are not the favorite if they get PG

It's just a rumour but also they're contenders now.

I could see them having one max spot, but not two...Dragic is the best offensive player on their team. take him off that team and they can't score. they have to sign him

I think pure logic says adding giannis would make them even more deadly but isn't it possible it could actually set the team back seeming how the roster is currently constructed and gianiis would likely want the ball in his hands which could conflict with Jimmy butler and ball movement.

How would they afford 2 max + Butler?

Good leadership, good culture, guys buy in. Really impressive. Did Lebron really wanted Spo fired, when he talked to Riley? Heard it was a rumour.

They looking to roll back that Heatles era in 2021

That said is the Greek Freak going to look at teams and say

"You know who is my best shot. That team with the 32 year old SG that can't hit a 3 and that 23 year old Center that can't hit a 3. Perfect skillset for my own lack of ability to hit a 3. Only twos! Let's do it!"

Not impossible but the easiest of sells. I have to imagine Greek Freak will have his option open and if I were him I'd go to the team with Curry and Klay instead (I suspect they clear the cap space for it by then and use these draft picks to do just that). Just a team who's big 3 makes a whole lot more sense for his skill set.

But yeah MIA's future is in very good hands. How the **** they found Nunn, Herro, AND Robinson when every team in the league is dying to have just one player like that is beyond me.

That is franchise altering to say the very least. And they'll be a contender for a long time to come with this crew.

I like the balance of personalities they have now to succeed. I would be really careful about what kind of personality they would add to the mix. It's got to be someone willing to work and scrap. These guys won't accept a slacker.

They only have room for one max player. It's nowhere close to being enough room for two max players even if they don't extend Bam.

Not sure where the cap will be in 2021 but it doesn't look like it wil be higher than it is now due to covid. Likely lower...
