it come to my attention that AD may be the favorite for FMVP.

instead of discussing the semantics of its effect on lebrons legacy i want to point out the semantics of why he would the favorite.

lebron gets credit for being the better player but a lot of it based on team success minus the other.
this perspective was created over a period time and during the absence of the other.
in a vacuum , particularly a 7 game series, its very likely AD could be the teams leading scorer while being their best defender. its really possible that AD could earn the FMVP and not lebron.

as far as responses, any commentary on any of the points i stated is welcome but i wanted to discuss the possibility of AD possibly having a better shot of FMVP than Lebron.

LeBron is a lot more valuable to the Lakers than AD is; the on/off numbers show that. But yeah, AD has a decent chance at Finals MVP regardless. His best shot at it would come against Boston.

I was arguing about that with my friends who are huge Lakers homers, they don't believe that the refs ever show them favoritism my buddy kept saying they got alot of free throws because they attack the paint more than any other team, I said hmm that's strange there have only been 2 other teams to shoot more free throws in a half in playoff history, why hadn't anyone thought of doing that before?! The Lakers must just be really smart.

Getting a bit ahead of things here since the Lakers haven't won the WCF much less the Finals, but I would think if the Lakers beat the Celtics, AD has the best chance at FMVP since he should be able to dominate that series. If the Lakers face the Heat, LeBron probably has a bigger advantage.

No one ever cared about Finals MVPs until MJ won 6 of them. The 80s stars like Magic, Bird, and Isiah only won about half of their teams FMVPs. Because who really cares.
