Who will win the 2021 championship?

Post#1 » by RoyceDa59 » Thu Oct 1, 2020 5:51 pm

I know it’s early(2020 playoffs not done yet) and there will be lots of changes in the off-season, but it’s also fun to make a really early prediction.

Also there are LOTS of storylines and legacies on the line for the 2021 season. Golden State will be back, Brooklyn will emerge, Celtics, Nuggets and Heat will be improved. Clippers & Bucks will be back with a chip on their shoulders. Lakers can only get better rounding out their supporting cast. Houston with a new coach, Philly with a new coach, Raptors always improve.

I think there is a big 8 going into next season as it stands right now: Lakers, Clippers, Warriors, Nuggets, Nets, Celtics, Heat, Bucks. The poll will reflect this.

Make your EARLY BIRD prediction now. Who will win the 2021 championship? And why?

Based on what we know now, I'm not sure any prediction makes sense other than the Lakers. Obviously it's too early to be confident in any prediction though.

I’ll start. I still think it will be the Lakers. LeBron and Davis are too much too handle, and they will have another off-season to further round out their supporting cast and depth. Lebron has a knack for choosing the right supporting cast with the right skill sets and mentality.

I’m going with Lakers to repeat in 2021.

Nuggets beat Raptors 4-2.

MPJ and OG both level-up and treat us to an amazing Finals duel.

Ya theyre gonna have their MLE to add a decent player. Bazemore would be a pretty decent backup SF

MPJ is super 1 dimensional and a terrible defender

Not sure that will suffice to get to the finals

Lakers will rightfully be favorites. Could see them meeting the Nets there.

He puts his skill points towards passing and defensive awareness.

Davis is only 27 and in his prime. He'll be even better next season with a Championship under his belt while moving up to a top-3 player.

To be honest the Lakers might have the 2 best players in the league next year. I don't see James slowing down that much. I can see Howard retiring and them losing guys like Morris but they'll still have Caruso, Rondo, Bradley, KCP, Green and Kuzma back. They'll probably get a veteran who's hungry for a ring (similar to Dwight last fall).

i'm okay with that, just happy OG actually leveled up to be in a Finals duel

Right. I mean, this is just what I'd like to see.

I would guess the favorites are Lakers vs. Celtics/Bucks, but that's boring.

He spends the entire off-season working on his ball-handling and pnr reads (in this version of the future).

Celts and Miami are way ahead of the Bucks. Giannis isn't an initiator in the clutch and that's what he's being forced to be. Middleton is impressive though

I see the Lakers repeating, especially if they can re-tool a bit in the offseason.

A lot can change in the offseason, but I did put Celtics in front. Regardless, I'm referring to betting favorites.

Philly or Clippers will have a chip on their shoulders and I see them making the finals.
