Why is there so much hate for Lebron?

With Lebron about to win his 4th title in a great career, I see a lot of people trying to discredit the championship
(I wonder if they would put an asterisk on the title if their team was about to win it).

So, the question is, what bothers people so much about this player to feel the need to attack him at every opportunity?

Too much of anything is bad for you

9 out of 10 finals with Lebron and media sucking his dick,

It gets tiresome

Also the way he handled the China situation with morey, guy exposed himself and wanting nothing to cross as path at the cash

Most of these people will regret it when he's retired and realize the time they spent hating him could have been spent appreciating his greatness live.

Even for MJ there's this revision that he was always loved by all but he actually had his share of haters but there wasn't social media back then and barely the internet to amplify that.

There was even this link posted somewhere of this old 1997 geocities website devoted to just hating on MJ.

lebron getting LA another ring is nothing short of greatness--the way this team has grown under his leadership is nothing short of greatness--its impressive--its hard to see it bc of how well they are playing now but remember the pre-pandemic lakers--then see where they are now---they did it--they found their groove. But it doesnt really help his goat argument imo--even if he gets mvp--he can only be the second GREATEST--yall dont remember AIR jordan very well huh--thats cool--if lebron can do it again he may have a case but he will never be like mike--

It’s a coalition of people with various interests... but the biggest sub group among them are Jordan stans. Even his haters are going to miss him when this is done, wether they know it or not yet.

It's mostly simple-minded tribalism.

Apparently Michael Jordan desperately needs to be defended online and apparently that can only be achieved by diminishing other players.

It's all a bit pathetic really

If he continued to speak like that I can understand what your saying, but he has matured and certainly never speaks about winning a championship being easy anymore.

I think a lot of players have said things they regret, perhaps him being the biggest means he gets the most flack for it.

The reason people dislike Lebron is because the shameless way he, the NBA, and the media have colluded in building up his legacy. They have used every dirty, dishonorable trick in the book to do this.

We have been through 10 straight years of lies, distortions, and fake narratives being hoisted upon us by the espn, the nba, and Lebron's media team. In the process they have thoroughly disrespected every great player that has come before him and even after him. From Kobe to Jordan, to Magic, Kareem, Bird, Steph, Kawhi, Durant, Giannis, the entire decade of the 90s have all been trashed over the years in an effort to build up Lebron. Because of this the NBA's prestigious history and legacy has taken a big hit. Younger fans have no knowledge of and respect for the history of the league as a result. For us older fans who care about the integrity if the league and of the sport this has been tough to see.

Even Lebron's biggest detractors will acknowledge that he's a top 10 player of all time so this isn't about discrediting and not appreciating him.

Being bringing up stuff like China or even as far back as the decision aren’t being genuine. People have been hating on lebron and desperate for him to fail from very early on in his career.

There are so many reasons and everyone will have their own combination of reasons. I think it's fair to say he brings a lot of it on himself. His personality can rub people the wrong way. And he's made a career out of escaping difficult circumstances.

That's a rather silly thing to ask.

Everybody has haters, literally.

If your asking specifically why Lebron gets as much attention as he does, it's because he's a polarizing figure. Plain and simple.

He's done amazing things and he's done/said controversial things.

I don't particulary like or hate him as I've never had a conversation with him, but I'm not fond of alot of thing's he's done and said in the past. Nevertheless, I accept that he's one of the greatest basketball players ever, easily the greatest since Jordan, and respect/admire the amount of work he's had to put in to reach where he's at in life right now.

I hated MJ his last few years in the league, and after he retired I regretted that I let my hate prevent me from enjoying his greatness (I was still a teenager when he retired). I never made that mistake again. I may not like Lebron but I am still in awe at what he does on the court.
