Per that report:

"Players like Patrick Beverley, Montrezl Harrell and Lou Williams—Clippers bedrocks before the arrival of Leonard and George—bristled when Leonard was permitted to take games off to manage his body and to live in San Diego, which often led to him being late for team flights, league sources said. The team also allowed Leonard to dictate to Doc Rivers when he could be pulled from games, among other things. Tyronn Lue was on Rivers' bench for all of this, but the Clippers were Rivers' show."

Wow I wonder what’s going to happen next season and how this will be handled.

Yeah, this was certainly coming. That load management thing was a bull from the very beginning.

Well Harrell has a chance to leave so if sick of the treatment then leave its that simple regardless how much Clippers offer him. Lou & Beverely are two who have no room to talk after their playoffs. I know Kawhi had a terrible game 7, just atrocious, they have no room to say anything because they played worst the entire playoffs & seeding games.

You just know it was Harrell and Lou. And I get it, but I don’t respect it. Those two didn’t play up to their normal levels enough throughout the bubble. And all year the team never fully gelled.

Both have to be gone I would think.

Not surprising at all. Guys aren't going to like it when they're busting their butts night in and night out while Kawhi picks and chooses when he wants to play. Especially when he failed to deliver when they needed him the most. Leadership starts at the top, and it's not looking so good in Clipper land.

The whole concept of 'team' means that everyone lives up to certain standards and rules. The idea of giving certain members privilege will eventually ruin team chemistry. Kawhi has a shelf life no matter what team he is on....particularly if they arent meeting expectations.

Role players getting mad that a 2x finals MVP and nba champion gets special treatment, oh boy. Kawhi's inability to carry a team in the RS might hinder his value slightly, but he makes up for it by being one of the best players in the world come playoff time. Virtually every superstar gets preferential treatment, if they wanna criticize him for something then it would be for having a terrible game 7.

And honestly Pat Bev is a major contender for biggest disparity between a player's actual talent and how talented they think they are. He's a decent rotation guard that's allowed to foul on almost every possession defensively, his opinion on how his team should be run doesn't exactly hold much weight.

If you start to give up 3-1 leads and flame out at tge end of the 2nd round after load managing and having 4 months off, the Kawhi deal really sours. Obviously none of this would come out if they won the chip.

Sh@t hits the fan when you lose to the Nuggets on WC semi-Finals. You can see why Ballmer would be pissed but still unable to do anything. It’s Kawhi’s world now. All that and of course Doc gets the boot.

If Kawhi seriously wanted to load manage and stuff should he not take a pay cut then? Would that not be fair and perhaps get some more respect from his team mates?

Well, he didn’t play like one of the best players in the world this postseason. All season long we heard “the regular season is just practice” and “just wait for Playoff Kawhi” and then he went 10-35 in the second half's of games 5, 6, and 7 and blew a 3-1 lead.

There is a difference between preferential treatment and load mgmt BS, late for plane rides. Just a ton of poor leadership qualities.

Posted this on the raptors board, that in fairness it was reported that there were issues in the raptors locker room around January / February 2019 due to Kawhi's special treatment. Definite rumblings that the younger guys started voicing unrest over the disparity of treatment. And it was also reported that Kyle had to be reigned in by management when he started following Kawhi's lead regarding practice habits and general discipline that had begun to deteriorate mid-season.

Ultimately the difference is that management did step in and address the issue. It sounds like the Clippers did not. And that's the difference between a franchise with a chip and one that doesn't.

Yes problem solved, now PG can lead the 2nd unit and continue to hit the backboard

In all seriousness, those 2 are really poor defenders and maybe it is a good idea to move off of them

But they were also a very big part of their bench unit. They weren't great in the playoffs though, so who knows

Depends who their replacements are. They lack a true pg who is also a leader on and off the court. Rondo would have been great for them, so great they didn't have him.

Rondo fits great b/c they have more shooting than we do

They all deserve criticism- Kawhi included.

However, guys like Pat Bev, Lou Will, and Harrell have to look at the situation realistically. As fun as it was to cheer for the 18-19 Clippers, how far could they really go? They fought valiantly against GSW, but their ceiling was low.

You get 2 guys like Kawhi and PG13, you have to embrace them and realize how great they are compared your own ability. Imperfect comparison, but all of us have played pickup ball with superior players and you know they can push you to victory because despite your own hustle, you just aren't good enough to get there without them. Well, if you truly want to win you have to accept that or those guys need to be shown the door. Plain and simple- Kawhi is certainly the Clippers' best player and if he needs to load manage to stay healthy, so be it- if you don't like it as a role player? Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

The problem was always that Clippers didn't have a real facilitator and play maker on the team.

I had never heard that about Kyle. That's kind of disappointing. I guess that's part of the benefits of having a strong organizational structure from the top on down, I wouldn't be surprised if it was Webster who reigned him in, he seems to understand how to talk to the players and it looks like Kyle respects him.
