The value of Wiggins

The other Wiggins thread tipped me to make this thread, if only for the poll.
Obviously every team will rate their assets higher than others, but the gap in value from what I see posted is really surprising. I don’t know if it’s just a vocal minority of fans (from either side) that makes the gap, or chasm in this case, seem so big while the majority are somewhere in the middle.
You can define value however you like. Selecting whether your a Warriors fan or otherwise, in your opinion, what is Wiggins value?
If this is interesting/productive etc. I might do similar for other players/teams. Feel free to throw some names out there in comments
Edit - obviously the thread could turn into fanbase bashing. Don’t do that.

I voted Other fan - Neutral value. I think there are worse contracts in the league, he's still young and can improve. I think Wiggins is too much trashed on this website.

If he can turn into an effective role player for a good team, it is with GS. If he can’t do it there, it’s hopeless.
BKREF search is now behind a paywall, so I can’t bring up the full list, but there are very few players ever who have started as many games as Wiggins has, shot as many times as Wiggins has, and produced so few Win Shares and/or Value Over Replacement Player (not perfect measurements, but still) as Wiggins has. Take a look at Wiggins vs. Rodney Hood, for example.
Wiggins
454 GP, 454 games started, 16,000+minutes, 7,488 shots attempted
15 win shares, .044 WS/48, -1.9 BPM, .2 Value Over Replacement Player
Hood
381 GP, 248 games started, 9,000+ minutes, 3,606 shots attempted
17.1 win shares. .088 WS/48, -.5 BPM, 3.4 Value Over Replacement Player
Such a waste of physical gifts.

He has negative value right now. If he got paid like a role player it wouldn’t be a big deal, but he’s making $30 million/year for the next three seasons.

His contract, in a vacuum, is certainly somewhere between “slight negative” and “significant negative.”
I’m not sure how anyone could argue otherwise.
His value to GS, under the circumstances of his acquisition, could be very much worth what they paid.

Is there any aspect of the game in which he could be considered above average?
Jumping maybe.

I don't think there are a lot of Warriors fans on this forum

wiggins wont have any burdens to bear.
i meam,,i don't like him but i'm quite surprised at the poll. with many players all it takes is to harness their talent and laser it to a specific thing

I'd say the perceived value of his contract is about as negative as it gets but now that he's finally in a good situation I expect he'll start to win people over. He played much better last year even though it might not look like it statistically. Way better effort and decision making on both ends, more consistent, etc. He just had terrible teammates.

I voted strong negative because he’s making the max. The only thing he’s good at is scoring and he isn’t an efficient scorer. He’s basically Dion Waiters but instead of being paid like a 6th man he’s being paid like he’s the best player on a team.
2020 Stats:
Andrew Wiggins: 23, 5, and 4 on .54 TS%, 0.2 VORP
Dion Waiters: 20, 5, and 4 on .52 TS%, 0 VORP

Good poll OP.
Strong negative value. Trading for him didn't make sense. Yeah, they got a FRP, but they took on one of the worst contracts in the NBA.
Warriors are one of my favourite teams and I really wanted to see them do well after KD left. I'm not just a random hater.

Slight negative from the Dubs perspective IMO. Negative in terms of moving the asset due to the albatross contract but some upside specifically to the team because he fills a position of need and has some skills that might make him a plus in the role he’ll be asked to fill.

I watched him at almost every Wolves home game for two and a half years. He's just not a good player. Maybe a change of scenery can help him but I can't see him being a positive for any team unless he figures something out and/or his role is reduced.

Above average player with a bad contract that makes him average or worse value.

I mean strong negative. He has been a massive negative ever since he signed that contract and he hasnt shown any major improvement in his game. Hell RAPM shows he just had his worst season yet. 12 games in a Warriors jersey doesnt all of a sudden make him more valuable.
Its like out of nowhere talk of Wiggins being a neutral or not that bad of a contract started happening and it just keeps getting repeated. No he is still one of the worst contracts in the league. The only reason he sees any kind of minutes is because of his contract, give this guy the same contract as Jabari Parker, then he would be in the same situation as Parker. Getting bounced from team to team and getting stuck on the bench after 2 weeks with a new team, once that new team realizes the "potential" is just that and the production is crap.

I would love to hear the argument for this.
