I just don't like this era of the warriors uniforms. To me they look like a cheesy super hero uniform. The regular Warrior uniforms are probably the best in the league in my opinion.

My thoughts exactly. The mascot during those times was even this ridiculous like...lightning superhero guy. Normally I love blue and orange together but never liked these much. Not Warriors colors.

I still prefer them to identify as the Bay Area's team as opposed to San Francisco's team, although I understand why they wanted to move to SF.

Seriously with no KD in town, he realizes he has to channel his inner Allen "Bubba Chuck" Iverson in 2021

A lot of Warriors fans don't like it either which is why in 2010 they went back to the classic blue and yellow colorway with the Bay Area branding (i.e. Bay Bridge on the logo.) The superhero look was just a remnant of the 90s uniforms which were more cartoony looking.
2 positives from that era:
1) Their mascot during that era was amazing (RIP to the guy under the costume.) His name was Thunder, so I believe they had to get rid of him once the Sonics moved to OKC and took the Thunder name.
2) The We Believe Team is one of the most memorable Warriors teams of all-time. Casual NBA fans will wonder why Warriors fans celebrate a team that got eliminated in the 2nd round and got broken up that same offseason, but the stories were deep with that team and that season really felt magical. I could go on about it but it would be a long post.
This new Oakland uniform pretty much pays homage to both the Oakland history and that We Believe team. Which is why I can't be mad at it. They're paying homage to their Bay Area history (similar to how GSW wore San Francisco throwbacks while they played in Oracle) while also paying tribute to one of their most memorable squads. As a throwback, this look is okay as long as it's not their regular colorway.

They're still the Bay Area's team regardless of what city they play in. At least until some new NBA owner buys a team and relocates them to Oakland or San Jose, then the Bay Area cities will have to beef like MLB fans here or when the Raiders played in Oakland and beefed with Niners fans.

One thing I love about the warriors is that it helps unite bay area fans. I always saw Raider/9ers fans at each other's throats but they are probably all rooting for the dubs and high fiving each other at the games/bars. I highly doubt there will ever be a nba team based in oakland or san jose. Warriors have too much of that market locked up.
As for the uniforms, its a nice nod to the past but what I really want to see is some lightning bolts.

Braids are making a comeback.
You see guys like Rondo, Dwight, Lillard, Westbrook, Wade, etc. who came into the league with a shaved head their first 5-8 years lol now suddenly with braids. Same thing with Steph now.

Agreed.
There were rumors here and there back in the day, though. Before the Sonics moved to OKC, I recall something about them possibly moving to San Francisco (San Francisco Supersonics had a nice ring to into it.) I also remember a rumor of Larry Ellison wanting to buy the New Orleans Hornets/Pelicans and moving them to San Jose.
Haven't heard much since, but I hope the Warriors remain as the Bay Area's only team. Love the unity like you mentioned.

Dang I don't know how I would feel about the SF supersonics or San Jose Pelicans

Although SF supersonics has a nice ring to it, but man it would not feel right. SJ Pelicans sounds like a straight up G-League name

Agreed, nothing says "decades of incompetent" like an ugly jersey from the '90s built to emulate the very worst of comic book art trends.
The Warriors need to keep the blue & gold colors forever with the caveat of those awesome "The Town" black & whites.

This is certainly going to alienate some SF fans lol. As a NY Giants football fan I have experience with this. Of course the Giants technically play in New Jersey, and for years after moving to NJ they wore a helmet that just said “GIANTS” (oddly enough they are wearing that throwback tonight on Monday Night Football). But in the year 2000 (and ever since) they went to an even older throwback uniform with the “NY” helmet which they wore when they played in Yankee Stadium, and you wouldn’t believe how many New Jersey fans were triggered by it lol. They liked the neutral “GIANTS” helmets and many Jersey fans saw it as insulting to put the “NY” up there
