Where Should Chris Paul Go Next?

At this stage in CP3's illustrious career, where should he go next? Considering his stellar performance last season, its safe to say he has some fuel in the tank.

Heat? Lakers? Bucks?

What do you guys think?

Bucks make the most sense but it's going to be a lot of hurdles to get him. Philly will probably offer Horford's bad contract, but CP3 apparently DESPISES Morey so that might cause issues if it happens.

To me it's the Clippers, but I don't see how they get him.

Bucks makes sense, then 76ers.

He should go wherever Sam Presti decides is best for the organization.

Clippers would be an awesome storyline. He wants to be in LA. He's close friends with LeBron, but I don't think he fits as well with LeBron as Kawhi. With the Clippers he can be the dominant ballhandler, playmaker with zero issues. It will be very tough to make salaries work, but it is possible if Harrell S&T+Beverley+Lou and another lesser piece I believe.

I agree though we likely lack anything OKC wants outside of maybe Shamet/Zubac. I'd be willing to let go of Shamet but not Zubac.

In terms of basketball fit, Bucks, Suns, Clippers, and even Nuggets make a lot of sense.

Lakers probably would be his best opportunity to win a ring being that 3rd guy behind LeBron and AD.

I think anyone has their best chance to win a ring by joining the defending champs who also have 2 of the top 5 players in the world...It isn't possible for the Lakers to acquire his salary though so they shouldn't be in the conversation.

What about Phoenix for Kelly Oubre, Ricky Rubio, Elle Okobo and a lottery protected 2021 FRP for Paul?

Suns:
Ayton/Kaminsky
Toppin/Saric
Bridges/Johnson
Booker/Jerome
Paul/Carter

I don't think its where Paul would particularly want to go, but he would be great for that team and help them (and specifically Booker) take that next step.

Chris Paul really doesn’t get to decide with his huge contract.

That said, the Bucks should make a play.

Ah, yes, Milwaukee does make a lot of sense. If Chris Paul is open to it I'm sure Milwaukee would try to reach an agreement.

This has it's positives for Chris Paul, too. Staying under the current contract and just focusing on helping Milwaukee win a championship. the negative is if Giannis leaves I would assume Chris Paul would know he's committed before he agrees to play for Milwaukee.

I think CP3 may actually be willing to put that behind him. I mean he was able to mend bridges with Rivers to my knowledge(could be wrong) in order to win a title plus playing with Simmons and Embiid he'd be willing to go for that. His real issue was with Harden being massively lazy and not moving around when the ball wasn't in his hand that led to severe friction.

Surprisingly, Morey was able to dissuade Harden from trading Paul for Westbrook and to wait for a better deal after the b-ball ops in Houston showed him how much of a worse fit those 2 would be, but tightwad Tillman overrode everything and made the deal happen thanks to Harden running to him.

Presti sure as heck ain't dealing him to the Clippers and if the Clips fail to win next year, no telling what Kawhi will do and if he's gone, that treasure trove of picks becomes way more golden. Or he'll stand pat with CP3 back in town if he can't find a good deal.

He's signed to a long-term contract that pays him very well. He doesn't get to decide.

Thats the best point that needs to be made clear to all the folks that think the Clippers make sense. Presti isn't moving him to them as long as he has all of those picks of theirs.

if he wants to be in LA near his mansion, Clippers

if he wants to win a title in LA, Lakers

if he wants to compete for a title with shooters around him, Miami

if he wants shock the world and bring back lob city vibes, Milwaukee

Go to the Lakers and if they don't win a title opt out along with Lebron to bring in 4th star

Buyout, head to the Lakers. Instant title and gets to play his remaining years with his BFF Lebron. Easy choice.
