Which player will have more to prove this season? Kawhi or Steph?

Post#1 » by Rodwilliams » Fri Nov 20, 2020 1:16 am

Kawhi has to prove he can lead a team without the roster being stacked. He went to the Clippers last year and choked away a 3-1 lead. He definitely has a lot to prove. The so called “best player” lost in the 2nd round.

No Klay Thompson means Steph now has to prove he can carry a team without the roster being stacked. It’s not about winning a championship this year for the Warriors but just getting in the playoffs would be good enough. He now has to show he can lead without an all time roster.

Both players are in danger of having a stain on their legacy.

They already won multiple rings. Really nothing to prove.

Kawhi. As much flack as Steph gets he led his team to 3 finals without KD despite having a 2nd option that's inferior to most champions 2nd option.

Kobe won 3 rings and people felt like he had to prove he can win without Shaq. What do you mean they have nothing to prove? 2 of Steph rings is cause of Durant. Kawhi was a 4th option for his first ring and was then traded to the best team in the Eastern Conference. He benifitted from Warriors injuries too. Kawhi has 0 MVP’s. Steph has 0 Finals MVP.

At this point, what else do they need to prove? They already lead their team to multiple PO, won a ring by themselves, and won multiple rings with great teammates. Even if this season doesn't go as they hope, nobody would question how great their careers are or put a stain on their legacy. Anything they do from this point would only enhance their careers just like how Kobe's career was enhanced by two rings after Shaq.

People forget that this is a team sport, no single
player without a legit supporting cast can make a big dent

Steph doesn't have anything to prove. People forget from 2012-2014 before the Warriors were contenders Steph was leading them to the playoffs.

Kawhi I think has a lot to prove as a leader. He lucked out in SA and Tor of having played on strong veteran teams in which he didn't have to lead or try to be a good teammate. It was clear this year his clipper teammates did not like him and when the going got tough they all folded. I don't think he can win with the way he plays and got lucky in Toronto with that fluke shot.

Kawhi for sure, especially after last season.

Kawhi **** the bed. This season he's got to clean it up.

Neither one really has anything left to prove but, if one of them did it would be Kawhi. I can't recall a supposed best player in the world failing so spectacularly. And before someone says LeBron in 2011, at least he made it to the Finals.

Klay was inferior to whom exactly? He’s one of the best 3&D players of his era. His game 6 saves the Warriors from getting smoked by OKC in 2016

Kawhi has a lot to prove, though I don't think if he cares, maybe his uncle does care.

To me Curry has already proven to be one of the best shooters the league has ever seen. My only concern is how he disappears on Finals Stage.

Kawhi man. His team fell out embarrasingly after being so confident about being a championship team.
Steph's team on the other hand has 3 chips and the greatest reg season record of all time, ppl will chillax on him this season bc of Klay being out.... maybe not as much as last year, but he likely won't get major criticism unless they're complete dogsh*t

Steph won more titles than anyone in the league currently for the franchise that drafted him. Kawhi won a title for a franchise that never won and could also do it for another one that never did.

Was it really Kawhi’s fault they lost 3-1?

PG completely **** the bed so did Harrell in the whole bubble concept.

Kawhi averaged 28/9/6/2/1 on 59% TS and elite defense.

Curry has a lot more to prove after milking a full season so he didn’t have to play with scrubs.

Leonard. It's championship or Clips are effed.

Curry has nothing to prove after their run.

Uncle Dennis for sure. Uncle Dennis really crapped the bed last year on multiple fronts.

Steph's team is dog poop. He has proved himself way more and is responsible for a monumental shift in the games. However, it would reflect poorly on Steph if he didn't tough it out with the team this year (like the last).
