What a huge blow.

He would have been great in that lineup. Not sure what they could do now and the overpay for Holiday is looking worse if they can't get someone as good as Bogdan.

This whole situation is crazy.... wonder if it effects whether Giannis stays or not.

He probably got a call from his agent that a bigger deal was out there and didn't want to sign the contract offer. Could be Dallas or Atlanta or another suitor we haven't heard. I don't think this is an error on the teamside.

Not a great look when you're trying to convice Giannis to sign the supermax. Offseason has been a disaster for the Bucks so far.

Yup. Holiday is not worth the package Bucks paid for him. Bucks improved very little by this trade. They won't win the title with Middleton as number two guy, he should be third option.

I thought that ship sailed the day he said he didn't know about the deal..

It's for the best in my opinion.

Instead of Bogdan the Bucks now have DDV, DJ Wilson, 9m MLE, 3.5m MLE. I'd prefer that anyway, especially because Jrue is better as an SG and Bogdan would have forced him to play as PG.

Without Bog, another second round exit for the Bucks. With him they would have won the title with a sweep of the western conference opponent!

This is far from a crisis.

They have added Holiday, keep DDV and have the MLE to find another body.

They've improved significantly on last year already IMO. And as disappointing as the playoffs were, let's not act like they weren't already a good team.

I wonder how this affects the role players that were supposed to be traded

I'd love to know the source of the leak, but it's looking likely that BB's agent who told him he could get more money is involved.

Sure the extra $8-9M over the span of the contract matters, but even at $15M from MIL, couldn't they have agreed to playoff incentives or something? Like there's very few teams with cap space this winter (I was about to say summer), and the offset cost of playing on a sure contender with the league MVP has to mean something.

I get BB wanting to be the agent of his own path, and he has a right to have a say and exercise it by signing wherever, but I'm surprised that playing for a winner doesn't seem to have more appeal to him.

Depends what they do with the mid level. But I don’t see an impact guy out there for that price that’s gonna sign with them

He hasn't gotten his big pay day yet. That takes priority over being on a winning team. People usually ring chase later in their careers for a reason. Also winning a championship isn't that important for role players, its more of a star thing.

This absolutely sucks for the Bucks. Imo -DiVincenzo + Bogdan >>> - Bledsoe + Holiday. And that is excluding the picks they traded away.

Bummer. This was gonna be a come up for Milwaukee. Idk who dropped the ball or what but damn that sucks for the Bucks.

So which GM went to the league crying about tampering? Pat Riley, Cuban or Masai? One of those guys killed this deal. Lol.

Does it have to be that? You should play by the rules. What if another team was waiting to offer a sign-and-trade deal when it was within the window? In that case the team playing by the rules would get sidelined for someone jumping the gun and that wouldn't be fair.

When you're hardcapped all incentives are treated like they are likely because you are not allowed to go over the hardcap for any reason. Jrue has like 4 million in likely and unlikely incentives in his contract that limit the room under the hardcap that the Bucks would have if they did a sign and trade.
