Expectations for the upcoming season ?

Losing Jerami Grant is a big setback IMO.

Probably a 3 to 4 seed just like last season. OKC is gone from the mix, Houston might plummet depending on a Harden trade. Portland, Mavs & suns move up but I'd still give Denver the benefit because of the leap Murray & Jokic made during the playoffs. More minutes for Michael porter. I don't think they'll make the WCF though.

Jamychal Green for $7.5m per year is better than Grant for $20m per year, imo. He's a solid role player, Green.

Losing Jerami is absolutely devastating for their defense but I think they couldn't do anything about it because they reportedly offered the same money.
We need a huge step up from MPJ

Losing Torrey Craig and Jerami Grant going to hurt that team. They fought well with the Lakers because they matched his size.

Their core is so good that they're going to be good no matter they are be able to keep Grant or not.

The question is if they could win the championship. Losing Grant definitely hurts them but I think at the end it all really depends on if they could keep developing MPJ and Bol Bol.

losing Craig for nothing is a strange one but getting Green as a replacement for Grant softens the blow, i love their acquisitions from the draft as well, Denver may have one of the better draft strategies (if not the best) in the league from non lottery teams.

Losing Grant and Craig will hurt. The Nuggets replaces them with Green who is serviceable.

The team’s future rests with the development of MPJ. His improvement and ability to take over games will determine if they are a serious contender or not.

The Nuggets are focused on development of their young talents. MPJ's potential is really huge and he needs to get minutes this year. Just a reminder - he didn't play much during the pre-covid part of the season, then exploded in the remainder of the regular season played in the bubble, kinda faded in the playoffs, but hit a few really big shots, like that one against the Clippers in game 5 or 6.

There's Bol Bol too, someone said the other day that the Nuggets staff are impressed with the work he's been putting on after the WCF. I still have no idea whether he's going to become a regular NBA player or not and his build and health are a concern, but the potential is there.

They got rid of Plumlee and Craig, who were awful in the playoffs by all the metrics (**** you Plumlee for what you did in the game 2 vs the Lakers), brought in Green whose offensive numbers are better than Grant's, had a very good draft and hired Campazzo.

People also forget that PJ Dozier was pretty good, especially on defense.

Murray is only 23, Jokic keeps getting better and better, MPJ will likely become a star in this league, Gary Harris will regain his confidence if he stays healthy... They basically need one reliable 3D guy and another PF and I'm expecting them to get at least one of those in the following days.

they can trade Morris now, but overall about the same team of last year, they are counting on MPJ to improve the defense and be that key forward.

Murray.....Morris.........Dozier
Harris......Campazzo....Cancar
Barton.....Hampton.....Diop
MPJ........Green.........Bol Bol

- Losing Grant sucks, but they split that money to Green/Milsap + MPJ is projected to have a bigger role + they have Bol Bol and Nnaji to work with + Dozier, Diop, Cancar will also battle for minutes. They'll be OK.

- They upgraded their guard rotation with Campazzo and Hampton while losing almost nothing.

Denver is still a Top 3 team in the East with the LA teams. All they need is MPJ taking a leap and Harris/Barton combo staying healthy. They are also in a great spot for a consolidation trade in the deadline in case some All star player asks out.

Relying on maturation and health for improvement. No home court hurt Nuggets and Jazz

Curious about they want to do with Bates-Diop. He has the skill set to replace a lot of what Craig offered if he gets an opportunity.

bol bol will definitely be in the rotation. he might be in a roy conversation... we'll see about Nnaji. it is easier to incorporate a big role player in a team than guard, so he might get some minutes

I believe Morris and one more player are on the move, we'll see if we drafted RJ for us

Well there's only so much you can control:

-Jerami Grant was offered the same deal that he ultimately signed for in Detroit. He wanted a bigger role and I won't blame him for that, but truthfully he's the best as a 3rd or 4th option and if Harris were to bounce back and Porter Jr. was to take the next steps into becoming that 3rd option, Grant would have a far easier time because other teams would worry about Murray/Jokic instead. Not to mention that the team was getting better and if they won titles, it would've increased his value. This may come back and bite him especially if things go south in Detroit.
-Plumlee is pretty much a dollar store Jokic. He's a good backup big in the regular season who is mobile and is a decent passer, but the playoffs really hurt him, especially that blown coverage on Davis along with being useless outside the rim not to mention the awful FT%.
If he had a good 10-15 footer and was at least a 70%FT shooter, he'd get a bigger deal. Good locker room guy and best of luck to him in Detroit, but backup bigs are replaceable especially when Joker is playing most of the time. Nnaji will be given time to shine in that role.
-Torrey Craig is a good dude and a plus defender. Sadly his offensive game was nonexistent and the Lakers relished having him on the floor whilst the Nuggets would be playing 4 on 5 on the offensive side. It sucks that he's going elsewhere, but he's replaceable in the grand scheme of things.
-Bringing back Millsap was nice for another tour. Hopefully coach Malone doesn't play him too many minutes. Getting JaMychal Green on a solid deal will soften the blow of losing Grant somewhat.
-As far as the young dudes, I trust the coaching and developmental staff to take their time with them and some may even blossom. Nuggets do a solid job at this.

The west is a bloodbath once again. Nuggets will probably be a 3rd-4th seed and I could see them coming back to the conference finals provided they get good match ups and don't dig themselves into another 3-1 hole again(past year was fun to watch can't lie!)

If I'm not mistaken Bates-Diop is gone since they are planning to bring Whittington and a backup center too

Any news about Campazzos salary?
