Knicks going through the motions with RJ Barrett ?

It seems they have no desire in building around him and just picking up a bunch of players who don’t compliment his play style but highlight his weaknesses.
11 non-spacing power forwards, non-shooting PGs like Frank N. and Payton, when does it stop ? they even wanted Westbrook..

I thought the only PFs on the Knicks now were Randle and Obi?

The Knicks and their "team of power forwards" is becoming the new "Ben Simmons is Rookie of the Year".

We're trying to ensure he's as disgruntled as possible in 2 seasons so we can trade him while calling him a rotten apple.
What, your favorite team doesn't operate this way?
Pshhh

Yeah, worst spacing in the league.

Look up the sniper guard They just drafted Immanuel Quickley. And Obi Toppin shot 41% from 3 in college. We only have 2 pfs btw lol

Knicks need to move Randle to a team like Charlotte or NO and get a point guard back.

That PG would be Rozier who has 3 years left. Ill much rather keep Randle one season

Rozier has 2 years left while Randle is partial guaranteed 2nd year. Both get paid $18million but the Knicks need a point guard.
In honesty, Charlotte is setup better than NY and I wouldn’t trade Rozier for Randle. Better shop with NO.

RJ is not KP - there's nothing to build round.

Simmons is gonna win ROY this year. And next year.

So last year they needlessly signed vets in free agency who didn’t necessarily fit, and this year they took the exact opposite approach and showed restraint, and both of those are huge problems? Seems like they can’t win with you?
The off-season isn’t over yet but I definitely think this years restraint is much smarter than last summers desperation.

Yep Pelicans would probably want Randle who plays the same position and has the same style as their most important player.

I like RJ but he’s not at a level where we need to build a roster around him. Who are the Power Forwards? Or is this about last year?
I’m pretty happy we didn’t sign anybody, don’t want Gordon or FVV. Why try to win 30 games instead of 20? Keep flexibility until someone worth signing comes around, no more desperate signings.

He needs to be able to shoot if he wants to have anything "built" around him. His 3 ball and free throw shooting were wretched at Duke and last year. He was the 3rd pick in a 2 player draft. By all accounts he's a worker so hopefully he improves here in his age 20 season.

I think he is a good, young piece-projects as a solid 2nd option if things break right. But, he is no top prospect, so they don't need to worry too much now.
I like what NY is doing-they have a 3 player young core, a top 7 pick next summer and the Dallas unprotected pick, and a bunch of cap space. They are doing the right thing. I think Robinson/Obi could develop into a top notch front line

RJ is by far our most talented player. He’s a competitor and he plays the right way. He’s flawed for sure, but he will become an excellent NBA player. It will just take time.
Which is precisely why the Knicks will trade him as part of a package for a star. He was not a Leon Rose pick so he has no obligation to be patient with him.
I think his days are numbered unless he becomes an All-Star in year 2. It’s sad really.
