Laker’s THT!!

Post#1 » by LakersSoul » Sun Dec 13, 2020 3:42 am

Unlocked. Carry on.

-KD

Lakers fans are super excited about THT, more than Caruso. THT was a late 2nd round pick last year and he was fantastic last season in South Bay.

Then during the playoff for some runs including an ISO against Harden. That was funny.

This year Vogel is heaping compliments and Bron and others are joining the crowd. If you haven’t seen Lakers bench player #11 deep, here is some highlights in his first preseason game.

Ringer article on THT. Moves like Crawford with Tuckers body. Could be a huge steal from 2nd round.

Apparently even Kawhi asked about how old THT was saying how poised he was out there. He’s very shifty, has a good handle, great length, create space with his handle and his body, high basketball IQ, good instincts, great competitor as he seems fearless out there.

Not explosive though so ceiling is limited.

I mean as a second-round pick, as long as THT develops into a guy who can play 15-ish minutes during a playoff game and not cost the team the game, then he's a success in my book. I don't think anyone should expect anything more than that from a player who was picked later in the draft.

That is his floor. THT’s ceiling is much higher. He can play both side and attack the rim with handles. Below is one play Lakers fans love although he missed the shot. The kid’s potential is super high.

Trust me, I want THT to turn into a very good player/starter. Don't get me wrong about that. But as someone who used to hype up Xavier Henry, Kendall Marshall, Andrew Goudelock (my beloved namesake), Darrius Morris, and basically every other young Lakers guy with some potential, I've learned to temper expectations.

He actually played really well in the less than 10 minutes he was showcased in the playoffs for those who saw him.

Its a wrap for this league, again. Smh.

Funny thing is his handle is really jerky right now, he's really getting by on physical tools (that wingspan unreal). Imagine if Phil handy helps him become more fluid wow

Tht may well be scouted upon playing regular mins and then not be effective anymore. May well just end up on the end of the bench then out of the league

It hard to predict a future star but this kid has much more physical tools and potential than Henry, Marshall and Lock. I don’t know if I ever expected much from them.

Let’s hope you are wrong. Love his attitude, desire, wing span and the guy has almost 10 inch long hands. Love THT learning the physical bump to separate himself that he used against the ex-Detroit guard, name eludes me now although I was high on him in the draft.

We're really making a thread after he shot 6-17 in a preseason game? All kidding aside, he definitely has the tools. Needs to learn how to make those tough layups tho. I've definitely felt a lot of 1st round guys have dropped in recent drafts surprisingly. THT was getting lotto looks in his draft.

Super young as he just turned 20. He is only a couple of months older than GSW’s Wiseman.

Pelinka has really done a great job of getting younger and more athletic in planning for life after LeBron.

Nope. Speak for yourself.

Caruso started a game in the finals and locked down premier guards throughout the playoffs.

THT has a long way to go. He looks promising and was getting to his spots in the preseason game but couldn't finish.

He's not taking rotation mins off Caruso, KCP, Schroder, Matthews etc. He's only likely to play very marginal minutes unless there's injuries.

He'll get some burn when one or two of those guys get into foul trouble

Let me make myself clearer, THT has a much higher ceiling than Caruso and there in lies the super excited-ness. I am not saying THT will play more minutes but the ceiling is different. Caruso is a stud but a fringe starter/key backup. THT has star potential.
