Re: Do You Like the Fake Crowd Noise?
It's whatever. But they should have crowd noise that boos the home teams in Philly and New York to make things more real.
Brian Geltzeiler: You see Mark Jackson getting a head coaching job as early as next year?
Adrian Wojnarowski: Not if people make calls on him. Not if an organization is doing their homework and knows all the things he brings with him.

Re: Do You Like the Fake Crowd Noise?
It absolutely sucks and the teams that pump in the most are the ones that usually have half empty, super quiet buildings in normal times.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?
Please advise….

I think it is incredibly well developed, they did a good job making it subtle. As somebody who used to watch a lot of basketball from mostly empty stadiums, I can confidently say that less people would watch without the added noise.

Re: Do You Like the Fake Crowd Noise?
It isn't the same for every team.
The Raptors/Hornets game had the crowd noise on max volume nonstop for the entire game. It was incredibly annoying. Almost like white noise most of the time.
The one during the Wizards/Nets game turned the crowd noise on and off. Typically silent when the ball was brought up the court, then cheering when a basket or call was made. This is how it should be.

Would be hilarious if they added the "Refs you suck" chant after a bad call.

Re: Do You Like the Fake Crowd Noise?
Yes I prefer it. They had fake crowd noise in Golden1 arena Kings vs Warriors last night. It was barely noticeable on TNT though. Would have rather had TNT overlay fake crowd noise like our local station does.
Luckily the benches were pretty loud so it wasn't too dull but the crowd noise gives depth to the game. I feel like I'm watching a rec league game without the crowd noise.

Yeah some games have sounded great and some games have been totally overboard.
A booming DE-FENSE chant in the 1st quarter of a preseason game is not going to happen with a real crowd so it shouldn't happen with a simulated crowd. It's just weird and distracting. But I'm sure they'll fine tune it as they go along.

They could definitely improve it, but it's better than nothing.

It's better than those ridiculously loud rims at the American Airlines Center. Not to be confused with the American Airlines Arena.

Already bought the soundtrack. It's very encouraging to do some menial task and then play the cheers for myself.
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.
