Expectations for Caris LeVert on the Pacers?

I am curious as to how everyone expects LeVert to play on the Pacers? Do you think he'll kind of maintain the same stats(roughly) he was putting up in Brooklyn, or do you think he could raise his game to another level?

I mostly ask this for two reasons, one of them being the Pacers have a history of helping players take the next step and winning MIP awards(Dipo, George, Granger, O'Neal, Rose all in last 20ish years). But also, because Damian Lillard seems to think LeVert may break out now:

I haven't seen a ton of LeVert's game, but I've always enjoyed him as a player. Does he have untapped potential left, or is he who he is at this point?

I think he'll do very well in Indy and I think many people would agree with Dame.

Pacers this year have a really great coach that basically made every Pacers player take a next step.

Myles Turner, Domantas Sabonis, Malcolm Brogdon, Doug McDermott, Justin Holiday all play a career season. Even Oladipo was close to being his pre-injury self, posting advanced statistics similar or even better to his allstar season (with lower usage). Lets see what they make of LeVert.

I see an average wing player joining the Pacers

Oladipo was a 20/6/4 guy. Levert was a 19/4/6 guy.

I'd expect his numbers to reach that... at least. All depends how well he gels on that team. Both Brogdon (6ppg) and Sabonis (3ppg) have seen significant upticks in scoring this season. Do they settle back into the mean a bit and Levert takes on a bit more after he's acclimated?

He'll score well for them but Dipo was scoring well for them and is the better defender. So I don't love it for Indy. But as always, we'll have to see. Not a terrible move or anything, just odd to me.

It was pretty obvious the Pacers were losing Oladipo this offseason.

They get a similar player for two more years... for slightly less money than they were paying Oladipo. So it makes some sense.

After watching them play without Oladipo the other night, Caris is going to give them a nice boost.

Young, good team.

Word. Makes sense in that sense.

20 ppg plus. He isn’t better than solo, but he is a scorer they need .

The writing seemed to be on the wall that Dipo was probably leaving Indy after this season. Better to get something decent for him than lose him for nothing (which I think they did).

I like it for Indy. LeVert is on a better contract and Oladipo will get paid by someone next season.

I think their structure is a good fit for him. He might not be a bonafide #1 option - but he'll help them win games. Good move for Indiana. Got a class act.

They’re good now, so they’re going to be better.

I don't have any set expectations but I'm pretty excited to watch how Caris fits in with the rest of the team :D

Pretty simple to me. Pacers aren't a free agent destination and they weren't going to re-sign Oladipo. LeVert is younger and still has some untapped potential and if he can just maintain his averages from his bench role on the Nets, his contract would be one of the better values in the entire NBA. Wood/LeVert making a combined 30 million a year for the next 3 season, with all of those picks, would have been a really nice start and taken the blow off paying Wall 40 million.

It's a team friendly contract for a team that doesn't have much cap flexibility. Tim Hardaway jr., Ricky Rubio, Joe Harris, both the Bogdanovics, Eric Gordon, Terry Rozier all make more than this guy. All of them are good players, but LeVert is a step above and has the potential to even be better.

I think LeVert is fun to watch when he's on and I hope he does well, but he doesn't seem like a very high impact player overall. Pretty large sample size of being an extremely inefficient player (.517 TS% last 3+ seasons) who has always had one of the lowest NetRTG on the Nets and sports a negative BPM for his career.

I expect he'll be about the same in Indiana (20/5/5 type numbers on below average efficiency).

Didn't watch much of him prior to this year but from this season so far (yes, very small sample size) he seems like one of those players whose stats make him look better than he is? He just seems all over the place (playstyle, decision making, defensively, and consistency). But maybe he's a different player and was just adjusting to his new role with KD and Kyrie on the team.

Pacers are worse in the short term but will be better long term since Oladipo wasn't going to stay. It's a decent move for them

I like what they’ve done the last few years getting players with potential and turning them into allstars/fringe all star, first Oladipo and Sabonis, then Brogdon and Warren and now Levert. They are going to be tough to beat
