brown is a playoff choker, he disappears in post-season games overall if you look at the aggregate stats

Last season he was 20/6/2 on 58% TS and +2 NetRtg in the regular season, and 22/8/2 on 59% TS and +4 NetRtg in the playoffs.

how he look against the 5th seed HEAT?

23/7/3 on 65% TS and +7 NetRtg. Even better. It's almost like you don't know what you're talking about.

I think he got confused and was thinking about Kyrie Irving and his most recent post season experience

EVery time I read this thread, all I can hear is the voice of the adults in a Charlie Brown show - Waaa, Waaa, Waaa. So many of the haters here have zero idea of what they are talking about, yet they still just keep on talking anyway. Waaa, Waaa, Waaaa.

They could have sold high on Brown, who is likely riding a somewhat unsustainable wave, and gotten Harden without giving up many more assets, but they overthought it. Tatum is a number 2 on a championship team and Brown is a number 3. They're not going to win a title until they get a number 1 guy.

Their core is young enough that when the 11th opportunity comes around (and the old superstars start regressing), they can strike.

The problem is I don't think Harden and Tatum wins a chip - if Harden/CP3, Harden/Howard, Harden/Russ, none of those got it done hard to see it playing out any differently in BOS. So while on the surface Ainge could have upgraded with Harden, your rolling the dice on a guy who doesn't want to be there and has already shown he will be an ass, and doesn't really get you over the hump to begin with in all likelihood.

The downside is now in your own division you have a 3 headed monster that will wipe you out for the next several years.

He has a weekly radio interview and answered the question. What's with this board's fetish with Ainge?

I'm far from an Ainge fan by the way and I even advocated for getting Harden, but passing on trading Brown, Smart and picks for what could possibly be a year rental during a pandemic season that wouldn't even make you the league favorite is far from a bad decision.

Brown and Tatum have been the most potent offensive duo in the league so far and they haven't even played in a week, all without Kemba and they're fresh off of an ECF appearance. Let's pump the breaks with the venom.

Ainge's biggest mistake was blowing his wad on Kemba who is on the wrong side of 30, undersized, and injury prone. The celtics don't need him.

Everyone, from Shams and Woj and Lowe on: Celtics have had some discussions on Harden

Ainge, when asked on a local radio show: Yah, we discussed and didnt like the price. Everyone in our front office unanimously agreed.

Some users: LOL AINGE SAID HE JUST MISSED OUT.

Pretzel logic being used by some posters.

No, his biggest mistake was drafting Kelly Olynyk instead of Giannis Antetokounmpo in 2013. His second biggest mistake was acquring Kyrie Irving. His third biggest mistake was drafting Marcus Banks instead of David West. His fourth biggest mistake was draffting JaJuan Johnson ahead of Jimmy Butler. His fifth biggest mistake was drafting JR Giddens ahead of about ten players who were better, starting with DeAndre Jordan and Goran Dragic.

It took him 10 years on the job before he started drafting well.

Yes every other GM knew that Giannis was a sure thing also Jimmy Butler too that's why he was like the 29th pick.

I’ll give credit to Ainge for literally building a championship team overnight, but man his rep has basically been built off of the absolutely lucky trade where he fleeced the Nets. And ironically even after all that the Nets are in a better position than the Celtics.

Technically, the Celtics at 7-3 are in better position than the 6-5 Nets. Oh yeah, they have been to ECF 3 of last 4 years....only failing to get there in the year when Kyrie played in the playoffs.
